you can be whoever you want to be in this DnD campaign. I have no rules
proceeds to tell me that I can't play a frog samurai who's lips are sewn shut because of the ancient bushido code of my village
All a bunch of liars they are. My frog samurai would've been dope. -
Frog samurai? Sounds lit
-
I'm glad you feel the same way I do lol. Frog samurai is my new Magnum opus of DnD characters.

I don't know much about it

Man I had a Stressful™ day.
I will remain in a positively vegitive state for the next six hours with copious amounts of pasta and Netflix.
It's just another day going around the sun, bby.. -
Someone been grieving my Minecraft server.
I've decided to ban everyone except for a select few people. I just don't have the time to manage 50+ people a day. Not when they can't respect the super simple rules we have and they're threatening to destroy the whole server. I've managed this server successfully for a year now and I'm not down to have the 100+ hours of work put into it disappear because of some angsty teen. :/
It will be sad though. I miss the prime of having lots of players on every day and we built a lot of memories. Maybe in the future I'll make it public again. It's just too high risk rn. I don't trust my members enough. -
I mean, that's why most servers even of that size have moderators, to take care of situations like that without you having to every single time. I'm a mod on a server myself, since a lot of the time I'm online at weird hours the owner is unlikely to be online and able to take care of situations at. (If I remember correctly, basically same reason I ended up as a mod here lol)
If you do decide to make it public again someday, maybe consider permitting some trusted people to be able to deal with griefers. If you haven't already, of course. Same goes with backups, if you haven't already been doing so, it's always wise to back up the world on a regular basis. In my experience, those two alone make the true risk to your server diminish significantly. -
Thanks dude. We have already put most of those measures in place. The big thing that's an issue right now is stealing. No one has and respect for each other. I mean it's one thing to take from your friend who you're close with. Hell, it's even one thing to steal diamonds from the guy who gives them out left and right. It is another thing entirely though to steal from the average and lower class members who literally only have what you're taking. There's no measure I can take to prevent people from stealing hard earned beacons or gifts left for other members. I have traps set and have threatened permaban to anyone who's caught, but ultimately it's just so hard to prove that someone's stealing.

Oh and also the pet killing. Someone likes to go around and kills people's pets and leave signs mocking those players and boasting about killing the pets. I just can't handle that and the killer uses fire or something because the pet deaths never end up in the logs

My server is a bedrock server so that complicated it
Although it looks nothing like what you'd expect when you hear the word anarchy, that is essentially what it is since the plugins are so limited. %90 of the players are absolutely amazing. The problem is I don't know who those 90% are. There's too many variables. All I can do is cut the server size back down and weed people out. I'll slowly expand again and see where the problems start back up -
Yeah, those are definitely harder to deal with, but there are server plugins that could help with that. For instance, land claiming plugins make it to where each person and claim an area, so only they and people they trust can access their stuff, break things etc, within their land, while still leaving open areas where people can start out or leave open gifts for anyone and such. It may be part of land claiming ones but there may also be other plugins that keep track of who does what, so for instance, if a beacon is stolen or someone takes stuff out of a chest it will tell you exactly who did it. I've had stuff stolen before and the owner was able to get the stuff back and punish the person that stole it. You could probably also give permissions to do the same to trusted people, so again, you wouldn't have to do it every time. I could ask the server owner what we use so you could too, if you wanted.
On the other hand I know a lot of servers are meant to be as close to vanilla as possible, so if that's what you're going for and plugins are a no-go, I'm not sure what to recommend, since that is an otherwise difficult situation. -
Oop, late post.
Ohhh...ouch. Yeah, those, those are terrible people .-.
Yeah...it being a bedrock server, that does make it a lot more difficult. I don't know nearly as much about the logistics of bedrock servers, but yeah. I would look into plugins that could help.
Barring that, your strategy of cutting back and then seeing where the problems start as you slowly go back does sound like a very good idea. -
Nooooooooo

My level progress reset! Ahhh! I gotta go research the algorithm some more to get more quizzes on the front page. I absolutely can't stand being Novice...

I might check some of my old account and see if I know any of the passwords to them
