What time is it set in?

Medieval I guess.lol idk.

Branches and twigs crushed under my feet as I ran through the forest floor. The elves were running for their dear lives in front of me. I warned them already, but they still kept stealing food from my family.

Konata sat in camp. her brother kept telling her she was'nt ready to fight. She was furious. She could fight just as well as him!
She could protect herself!
She sighed, and stood up, grabbing her katana and tying it to her waist.
She darted into the trees, red hair flying. -
I grabbed a knife from my belt and threw it into the group. It hit one of the elves in the shoulder, he fell down in pain.
"Aha, here you are! I told you to stop taking food!" -
Konata heard cries, and walked through the trees towards them. She looked down, wide eyed at the human, her red hair blowing in the wind wildly.

I heard some rustling not far from here. I pulled the knife out of the elf and got ready for a fight.

Konata shrunk against the tree, trying to hide in the thick leaves. She scolded her thick hair for blowing everywhich way.

Quickly analyzing my surroundings, I caught a glimpse of red behind of a tree. Slowly and cautiosly, I made my way there.

Konata saw the human, and reached for her katana..
I see what you mean..big brother..they are scary..specially if your short -
Slowly coming near the tree, I saw the short, almost funny looking elf.

She glared at the human, the old jewel around her neck making a slight ringing sound..not very noticable.
