Thread Topic: Regarding the introduction thread:
-
i think it's honestly so cluttered at this point that we should start over. i made mistakes in the first post that i'd like to correct, so i'd be happy with a new thread!
On every new page, maybe a mod could post a message directing people to a thread where they can request their previous introduction to be deleted? Instead of locking it? -
and wouldnt the mods still be manually deleting the posts? this way they wouldn't have to keep track, since you're sadly no longer with us rip jill we miss you
-
I'm definitely not suggesting a form for people to fill out as their intro. That would be really boring and I think letting people post what information they deem worthy of sharing is part of the personal touch of an introduction.
Manually deleting posts is fine with me, it's just the knowing when a post needs to be deleted or where to find it that presents a problem, which I think would be solved with the addition of the thread I mentioned. -
Glad we're on the same page about no forms. Sorry about that. I figured you weren't suggesting that, but I was too antsy to ask for clarification, haha.
I agree that knowing when a post needs to be deleted is a problem. I think that, rather than making a thread dedicated to people posting they need an intro deleted, they should just be redirected to the post deletion thread. -
I could see that working.
-
Since you won't be locking the thread, do you still intend to regulate newer accounts posting? If so, what range of "existence time" were you thinking?
-
That's one I haven't put a lot of thought into yet. I don't know if I'll keep that one or not- I was kind of counting on getting more feedback than I did.
-
I like the idea, especially since we've had several burner accounts post in there and then disappear.
I think you should consider a time frame between two weeks to a full month. That should be enough proof of activity, in my opinion. -
I'll bring that up to the others and see what they think. Thank you.
-
maybe if an account posts an introduction and then has no activity, then the post is deleted? idk if that would put too much work on the mods, but unless the rules are posted on every page of the thread, i wouldnt be expecting the newbs to know them before they post. u.u
This thread is locked, therefore no new posts can be made.
