Thread Topic: Questions for people who use incense
-
1. Where/how do you store your incense?
2. Where do you buy your incense? If online, do you have any recommendations that ship US-wide?
3. How can I tell if an incense stick will be high quality (long lasting, strong scent)?
4. Are there any cultural or spiritual things I should consider when lighting incense? I use incense to relax and make my room smell nice, but I don't want to be insensitive. -
i haven’t used incense in a bit, but i’ll try to answer your questions! ^-^
1. i prefer storing incense in a jar (like a mason jar or glass. you can also reuse containers) or a small try, a bit longer than the length of the sticks.
2/3. i’ve never bought incense online. i’ve always bought it in person whenever i found it. i’ve never rlly had incense sticks that didn’t “last long enough” or wasn’t “effective.” i like buying them individually. i find displays all the time.
4. i’m not aware of anything you should worry about when it comes to being insensitive to cultures, but you could research it if you’re concerned. -
don't use anything with sage, it's a closed native american practice. i know using bundles of sage is bad, im not sure about incense sticks but i'd just steer clear of it all together

I haven’t used them in a bit, but here are my responses-
1. I keep mine in a mason jar, it looks aesthetic as it is convenient. I use them as soon as I get them.
2. I wouldn’t get them online, you just can’t tell if they’re good or cheap.
3. I personally don’t exactly know. You try out different incense at first then you eventually get to like a certain kind in which you can trust in.
4. I honestly don’t know the answer. I just light mine XD

sage? many people use sage.

don't use sage it's a closed practice, unless you're native American. You can use pine to do smoke cleansing but don't call it smudging
