What genre do you write? All my stories end up horror or sad no matter how they begin, just warning you.

Sometimes I get this splendid idea to write a book and so I work long and hard at it for 2 weeks with like 4 chapters being done and then I give up on it because I convince myself that I suck...

One time I realized that I was rambling for 4 chapters, so I had to go down from 6 chapters to two.
