I'm taking one of my friends to my family's Thanksgiving celebration
we haven't been friends very long but he said he's not going to his family's celebration, since he and his family don't get along after he stopped being Muslim and his mom found out he's bi, so I invited him to mine
what makes me nervous is that my family is a bunch of white redneck conservatives and I just hope they aren't mean to him at all. I'll tell them off if they are, but I don't want them to hurt his feelings
I'm especially nervous because my family members can be kind of racist but I don't think they are as openly racist as they used to be since my cousins have mixed children so it SHOULD be fine
either way, I'm sure it will be good for him. though they might scare him away by being too exuberant
anyway, I don't know how I'll be able to sleep tonight with all this nervousness -
if they are educated conservatives they should be glad that he left islam

Hmm, I’ve never dealt with that kind of situation but what I do before going to bed when I’m anxious is
- drink some herbal tea.
- have a snack.
- watch something ligh / humoru
-draw my feelings / draw something unreleased.
-read.
-play a useless phone game, not something like subway surfer but something simple with no consequences?
-listen to music.
- maybe some milk? Or hot chocolate? -
yeah, but he's an atheist and my family is really really christian and really mean to people who don't believe in their god. it shouldn't come up at all but you know. still makes me nervous. plus he's black and I don't want them to say anything mean like they used to. I also don't want him to be hurt if they start talking about how "f-----s are ruining America" like they sometimes do
thanks, Puppet. you just reminded me that we have special tea for inducing sleep so I'll likely drink some of that before sleeping and fall asleep watching Twitch. I hope it works, thanks for the advice
