Ranna ran through the forest, her heart pounding. The thrill of the hunt had never been as exhilarating as this, she could almost feel pity for her prey. Almost. Ranna knew the forest much better than her prey, leaping over the creak. The boy screamed when she cut him off , knocking him into the dirt. He sobbed, and begged. Trying to appeal to her sense of humanity. It was a shame she’d lost that already. The women brought down her knife. And everything went black.

The silence was unsettling since he was used to the blaring sounds of the city. He pulled his knees up to his chest, staring out at the window. The streets were empty, void of life. It sent an odd, thrilled shiver down his spine. For just a moment, he wanted to go out there and ruin the silence. Hollering, screaming, dancing around like the world around him didn't care. But he knew that it was only silent because everyone was asleep. It was four am; no one in this town was ever awake at this time. So he forced down the fierce desire to destroy the peace and continued to sit there, dreaming about the chaos he could have potentially caused.
