Thread Topic: Am I a complete jerk?

So this guy and his friends in my class kept asking me what job I wanted when I graduate high school. I explained that I was going to be a University Professor for Language Arts.
They then tested me on my spelling. They asked me to spell Cats, asked me to spell a bunch of things. Eventually I just ignored them because I needed to do my work. They kept pestering me and one guy even started to chant: Spell hippopotamus! Spell Hippoptamus! Spell Hippopotamus!
So I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. Then I turned to him, gave him a smile, and nodded. "Fine. I'll spell Hippopotamus." I told him. Then I spelt his name and turned back around. Lots of people laughed and his friends teased him, saying I called him fat. He got offended and pointed out I was bigger than him. I calmly explained that I didn't call him fat. I called him a Hippopotamus to annoy him because he was pestering me. He got mad and stormed out of the room.
Am I a jerk for doing that? Or was it perfectly reasonable? I have been making similar roast lately whenever people get on my nerves. Not just with him and his friends, but with many other guys as well. I use my quick thinking to make excellent comebacks that turn the room against my attacker. However does this end up making me the bully? -
Are you in middle school or something? This is a perfect comeback honestly.
-
Its reasonable.
-
High school. The boys in my classes just act like they're twelve.
-
However that might be biased for me to say, because I always either act like I'm much older than I am. However people seem to see me as a ten year old.
-
pretty Reasonable
-
Ok, good. Because the absolute last thing I would want to be is a bully.
Thanks for helping me! -
Sometimes ya gotta act that way in order to show your not to be stepped on.
That's a lesson I learned a long time ago. -
Yeah. I would prefer to be sugar and spice and everything nice, but the world only gives me pepper and salt or every time not. So I have to be creative.
-
Are you a freshman?
-
No, grade ten. So Sophomore.
-
you read just like a 13 year old. Fascinating

Gee, thanks... ðŸ˜ðŸ˜’😑
