I was forced to write a rhymed couplet epistle to a famous person for my humanities class, so it's basically a poem to someone. I chose C.S. Lewis, and I'm actually kinda proud of my poem xD I dont write poetry so

Guys we watched an entire Victoria secret fashion show in my humanities class and now I'm kinda scarred for life. I really did not need to see half naked women walking around, wearing large feather wings.
Also, felt kinda self-conscious bc all the guys are snickering and ack. -
Do I fall in that category where I'm not an old user, but I'm not a newbie?

These evil allergies are killing me >:(
My eyes are puffy and red every morning, or just completely itchy and dried out by the end of the day. Contacts aren't working, but my glasses give me a headache. Keep having to blow my nose. Sneezing every minute. At least my itchy throat is over with. -
As a writer, it's sad to say that I suck at poetry. But I've been trying to fix that. I'm doing my next creative writing manuscript as a poem. Truth is, I've never really learned how to poetry in grade school, and yeah I've never actually learned or really tried.
It's definitely a fun exercise to try new things as a writer. You can't just stick to fiction and expect to be the best.
Poetry is sort of teaching me to pack in the most meaningful and relevant words in literally every line. Because it's so short, every word counts. Certain syllables sound better together. It doesn't have to rhyme, but it's making me aware of rhythm.
And tho most poems have felt like nonsense to me, there is some sort of story or meaning and picture inside each line.
This is harder than I thought xD -
I can honestly say that I haven't exactly brought my strongest genre to class specifically bc im not trying to show off. I want to learn and improve where I need to.
I've done a descriptive piece to appeal to every sense.
I did sort of a humorous creative nonfiction story.
And now I'm trying a setting/poetry.
My strong suit is fiction and voice specifically. Lol -
I wrote something,,, it's actually 29 lines which is pretty long for me. It feels almost more like prose than poetry.
But I'm gonna fix it up with some styling techniques -
