The band banquet is Tuesday, and it's formal. I need to wash my suit and iron it.

I went from fifth chair to second chair in one concert season. I think that's great.

I'm almost as good as first chair. I'm so close.

We're playing for the fifth graders to make them want to join band when they start middle school on Wednesday. They're so small and cute. We're playing Living On A Prayer, Happy, and a piece we played at LGPE called As Winds Dance.

Band banquet is tomorrow. I'm going to look cute. I can just eat all the food I want if I don't win anything. That's okay.

I hope freshman year is tolerable and not me getting a huge slap in the face.

I'm just glad I can choose at least some of my classes and have pathways to pave my way for a real career. That's exciting.

Teachers usually treat me better if I have great state scores from the previous year, but I have to show improvement to a certain degree even if they're already great scores. I used to make amazing test scores but show below twenty percent growth because it's hard to grow with high scores, so teachers would think I was stupid. I was just lucky going into eighth grade because I showed from 70 to 98 percent growth on the 7th grade state tests for each subject.

Georgia Milestones are a killer. I used to take the CRCT until I got to middle school. It's a lot harder to make a high score on the Milestones.

You can make a one, two, three, or four. That's beginning, developing, proficient, and distinguished. A three and a four are passing, but a four is what you want to get if you already had a three the previous year. I had three proficient scores, two of which were wishing twenty points of a four, and one four. I want at least three fours this year because I think it's achievable. Scores should be in this week or early next week.
