Thread Topic: how to sentence please
-
Would it be breathed or breathe?
As in, this sentence:
They stole, lied, and killed as often as most people (breathe/breathed.)
They as in a group of people.
((also breathe no longer looks like a word)) -
my gut tells me it's breathed
but maybe you could change it to "took a breath" -
their
there
where
wear
they're -
Connor is spot on
Changing it won't be bad -
hmmm if I can't figure it out I will, but it doesn't flow as nicely.
I wrote "breathed" originally -
heh yeah I'll go on and change it because I can't decide which it is. Tbh I still want to know
-
It's breathe
-
I'm in advanced English it is breathe
-
ahhhhh IT SOUNDS RIGHT BOTH??? Do tenses ever f---ing work
b---- i'm in ap english too and idfk
((also b---- as in joking please don't kill me)) -
"it sounds right both"
i am smart c: -
Say it with breathed out loud then do it with breathe
-
breathe sounds better out loud but breathed sounds better in the head
go with breathe though or try quick google search -
I have a slight accent and pronounce breathed and breathe the same way. That might be part of the problem.
also i do not have a southern accent that was not be admitting it f--- off m8 -
either way I changed the last part of the sentence completely, it now reads:
"And he hadnt been wrong. They stole, and lied, and killed as naturally as most people smiled."
also killed isn't the verb but I am v self conscious of my writing and it's a silly thing so I changed it so that you all wont bully me
haha my anxiety is getting better yes -
1.) you admit it
idc if you don't like me I had to say it>
2.) even if breathed is the same tense as killed and etc. breathe makes it seem more personal to the audience (readers) or the other characters in general.. so I'm gonna say breathe as final preference and leave haha
