So Lysander,
You're a huge dick. Just a walking dick. You have done somewhat better, but you still have a lot of work to do. Like, A LOT. Stop falling back, you idiot. That kid, he's a nice guy. Confide in him when he offers to listen. You guys are a lot alike and can help each other out.
We all know the s--- you're toughing through right now, and it seems like it's just going to add on, but you've lived through a lot already, you can make it through this, too. Don't let b----es at work bring you down. One day, you'll be doing better than them.
Stick to your plan to go driving and get your license, then look for a better place to work. It's rough without your best friend, innit? Some people have just kind of been rubbing it in and making it worse, but hopefully Lisa's right and they'll be done talking about it soon. Even though they aren't supposed to talk about it in the first place.
Your dad... He'll be all right. We know he's an a--hole, but he doesn't deserve all this, we know that. Hopefully he'll be able to eat normally and come home soon.
We'll figure out what to do about school and work, so don't worry. We always figure it out.
Your parents love you, and we hope that you'll be able to find a time to sit and talk with your mom privately. They say they want you to be happy, but we know you don't always feel that way. You're always so cautious about it, even when you try to make it obvious, but you have a great support system from your friends. Someone will be there if you need them. Tori's pretty awesome, isn't she? Her and Burch, they understand you more than most right now.
Delorena won't forget you either. She may even decide to move back next year, you never know. Her mom was great to you, always, never forget all those happy moments. She's your second mama forever. We know more than anything that you want to be there when something happens, but if you can't be, be strong.
You're relating this to what happened last year. Don't. It's not the same. You've gone out of your way to make your thoughts known, to visit. You didn't get to do that before, and you feel a lot of regret even though it was impossible. These situations are not the same, you've done all you can and are willing to do so much more. But you can't. Some things are out of your control and you'll have to accept that, no matter how much it hurts.
Help your friends to the best of your ability, but don't ever forget that you have your own problems to deal with, too. Don't let someone make you feel like your problems don't matter, like you're only there when they need something. True, you should be there when someone needs you, but you're not a therapist. You can't help with everything, and sometimes you may think you have the right things to say but not everyone is so harsh/brutal. It's okay to soften up a bit.
Open up a bit more to your friends. If someone decides to suddenly disappear when you're in need of someone to talk to, move on to someone else who will care enough to listen and help. You have plenty of good friends that'll do that.
Just work on yourself. Take care of your health, you've been neglecting it lately. Have fun and enjoy those days you took off to spend at cons with your friends.
Try to survive 2017 so we can speak again in 2018, all right, you idiot?

Dear future me
i hope that you overcame your depression, and that 2017 was a good year. i also hope that you stop being a dick to people who try to help you when you need it. i hope trhat jozy is still your closest friend, and that you stay good friends for the rest of your life. i hope that you have made it past another dreadfull year of high school and became a junior. and finally, ill be almost 17 by the time i post in here in 2018, and i hope that ive gotten over the fact that im different from everybody else because of my type 1 diabetes, and that they finally find a cure for it -
