You get pain from both.
You pinch your skin when putting your instrument together. You bite your lip and cut your mouth if your embouchure isn't right on the mouth piece. The reed can cut you if it's too far up. You trip over stands. Books fall on your feet. You trip over cases. Pain.
ROTC is the definition of pain. -
What do you play?
-
Base clarinet only one playing it

Bass clarinet is so hard to play because your embouchure has to be just right, and you have to have really strong and sharp air. I've tried. I'm Bb clarinet. -
Bb? I don't know what that means
-
B flat, the most common type of clarinet.
There's also Ab, Eb, C, and G. I'm pretty sure there's more. -
Ok
-
What chair are you guys in?
-
Bass clarinets and Bb clarinet have the same finger positions. Bass clarinet is just lower, but all of the notes are played the same way.
-
I feel like I either have a small piece of my reed stuck in my throat or a large clump of dust because the inside of my throat is itchy
-
I'm new, so I didn't get to take the chair test. I was moved after the band director got to see me play with everyone, so I'm the third chair which is after first chair and section leader.
-
Scratchy not itchy
-
There are six other clarinets, and they're all third year students. I'm proud of myself. ;;
That's odd. -
I sort of feel like cat because of that
-
Cool. I used play the clarinet. I used to always be in 1st chair. I decide that band was to busy and taking up my time and stuff so I quit band and now i'm in choir
