So the main antagonist for my book Skeletal is this character.
Skylar worked for an agency , yes a spy agency. Skylar was only sixteen years old recruited at a very young age because of strange abilites , her partner was a twenty six year old man she knew as Reed. While on a mission there was an accident and Skylar was caught in a fire , Reed happily abandoned her laughing at Skylar's naieve nature for trusting him with her life.
Skylar was assumed dead but nobody knew that Reed had left her to die or that he'd started the fire, however Skylar's father had assumed foul play was involved because of Reed's jealousy towards his daughters powers.
Fifteen years later Reed has a new partner , another sixteen year old girl with powers however he genuinely cares about this girl : Harley. Harley is warned by an old man in the hospital wing of the agency , where she was volunteering, not to trust Reed but he would not say why.
Reed and Harley going by the Codenamed Phaorah and Harqulein, infiltrate a place called , The Red ballroom , where a masquerade event is taking place , the masquerade and all other vents are really a cover for a villainous organisations criminal meetings, Harquelin is given a red rose by Reed ( For her birthday ) before they enter, she wraps it around her wrist , shortly after doing this she is approached by a teenager in a half-face skeleton ( Day of the dead style mask ) mask , the girk introduces herself as Skullita , as the night drag son Reed and Harley enter the underground rooms faced with traps , puzzles and tests each set up by a mysterious person , they find themselves seperated, Harley slowly learns the truth of Reed's last partner but not that he killed her.
Finally they reach their prize, a white glowing orb that is the orb of the dead the true goal of their mission.
However they are faced with Skullita who begins to fight with them.
After defeating them , Skullita reveals her self to be skylar and leaves reed with a nasty descison , save himself or risk his life for his partners after setting a fire.
Reed saves Harley.
Harley learns of the truth about Reed from Skylar's father who dies with Harley holding is hand, mistaking her for his daughter
Harley forgives reed knowing he's Changed . -
Also Skylar doesn't die at the end of the book and Harley makes regular contact until they begin to live together
