yes, maybe my character is riding on a bus just listening to her music with her headset on and the bus stops for someone else then your character might get on and notice mine?

well I mean I see that's how they would meet but what will happen? Like a conflict of some sorts? -
I think crescent would be in a bad mood and is listening to her music to calm herself down from a rough day and maybe your character taps or bumps into her causing her to snap at your character? ( she has a bit of my personality with a few other things not related to me and yes I could be tempermental sometimes )

i mean the whole story in general after they become friends or partners or whatever
like perhaps they could have to solve a crime or something? -
oh maybe they could end up bonding together and one of them maybe starts crushing on another?
anyway I think crescent goes into some old cave and hears weird noises so she gets a bit nervous and leaves it... with something stalking her -

yeah maybe they start off heated partners working together for something, then they could bond, then the stalking stuff, the romance sparky stuff yeeeeeeHaW -
Hmm, maybe crescent would be grumpy but somehow he purswuades her to do something with him that he needs help with, then a day later she goes into a cave to explore it but hears the weird sounds and quickly leaves the cave slightly frightened, maybe somehow he is somehow around and sees what went on and goes after her to see if she is ok, and then maybe they could become the prey of the unknown creature that stalks them trying to frighten them and other stuff?
