I always get a sense of melancholy when listening to this song  This song to me speaks about death and dying..This song to me speaks about death and dying...amd it cud incorporate a funeral
Let me explain why:
I close both locks below the window.
I close both blinds and turn away.
Sometimes solutions aren't so simple.
Sometimes goodbye's the only way.
he is in a coffin.."below the window" and he is forgetting everything and turning awway..
The goodbye might as well be a connotation to death and leaving loved ones one earth
And the sun will set for you,
The sun will set for you.
And the shadow of the day,
Will embrace the world in grey,
And the sun will set for you.
The sun set would then mean death..
normally on leaflets at funerals in the caribbean you would see"sunrise"(meaning birth), sunset(death) and sundown(burial)
"..embrace...grey" grey is a mixture of black and white which is significant when your eyes are closed,you only see black and white..
With cotton flowers on your window,
Your friends all plead for you to stay.
Sometimes beginnings aren't so simple.
Sometimes goodbye's the only way.
cotton flowers meaning wreaths on the window of the casket..
"yours friends..plead..you..stay" means that his friends are mourning..
beginnings refers to his life..and so because it isnt simple, death is the only way out
That's my interpretation!!!!

miss you guys like hell. this is one of the hardest things i've ever done... and the most depressing. ikr? i'm pathetic. but i still love you guys. all of you. i'll probably have occasional visits if the distance feels too unbearable, just to make sure you guys are doing okay... love you.
