For this one, it would just be x = -3 -

I did 3x+2 = 5x-4
3x=5x-6
-2x=6
-x=3
x=-3 -
3x+2 = 5x-4
2=2x-4
6=2x
x=3
3x+2 = 5x-4
-2x + 2 = -4
-2x = -6
x = 3 -
Then I must have got it wrong.
