OK, the basic gist of the movie is that Hiccup's dad wants him to be the new chief and Hiccup doesn't want to (the sequel takes place 5 yrs. after the first one). In a drawn-out turn of events, Hiccup meets his long-lost mother they all thought was dead. Then there was this b---- named Drago who was building an army of dragons to attack Berk, and he had this super-powerful dragon called the Alpha that controlled all the dragons' minds. The Alpha took control of Toothless and so Toothless turned evil for a while and ended up killing Hiccup's dad. Then Hiccup ended up getting Toothless back and killing the Alpha and Drago. Then at the end he became the new chief. There is plenty of romance between Hiccup and Astrid too.
