and i dont know how to finish that poem... its bugged me for weeks -
@Xxlepis: You can say that, but in reality the North American colonies were hardly being oppressed. British people had higher taxes at the time. Britain's policies and attempts to handle the situation, while not that good, really weren't all that bad either, relatively speaking. XD The rebels weren't really in the wrong, but they weren't too far to the right either.

Basically both sides were at fault, but each assumed they were right and the others were wrong. Difference in perception played a role as well.
