How is love pointless? Passion makes people joyous. Without love, what would we always feel towards one another? Hatred?

My interests lie primarily with the Revolutionary War, up to the end of Washington's second term as President. -
oh, history is one of my favorite subjects. like the civil war, revolutionary war, and WW1 and 2. (is it obvious i like wars? ) but i prefer science
