The winter were harsh, and the summers were dry. But nothing like this summer. The land was cracked, and there was barely any food. The pumpkins, corn, cabbage and even fruits all either died, or the insects ate them.
-
Out family of 5 was starving. My little brother, Keith and sister, Abby would spend all day traveling far away to fetch some water. But they couldn't carry much, so not many crops would get enough water, and not many animals could get a lot to drink.
-
Though Nichenbo lived with many others, she often felt alone. While everyone discused how to get back at the humans who killed the other creatures, she believed that there was a way to grant peace among all.
-
Stumbling into town, Eliade stayed at the inn. 'I suppose I'll go to the river tomorrow. Hit me!' she drank calmly.
-
Until one day. I was spreading seeds in the field, when the ground started to shake. I looked around, but nobody seemed to notice. The ground started shaking more violently, and I dropped the small barrel of seeds. Then, all of a sudden, a stray of water splashed out of my hand. I got scared, thinking that I got a major cut, but then realized that it wasn't blood, but was a large spray of water.
-
Nichenbo looked to the sky, and realized she wouldn't make it home in time. "I suppose I could find a nearby village, but if they're humans they might......" she trailed off, and shook her head. She picked up her bow and arrows, and started off.
-
I shook my hand, and even more water sprayed out. At first I was scared, but then realized that it wasn't a trick of my imagination, and started jumping with joy dumping water on all of the land. My parents noticed, and came running to me, asking me where the water was coming from. I didn't answer them, partly because I was too joyful of what I could do now.
-
'Ahh! Life is sooo good...' She wobbled upstairs. '...Too much, too much. Empty too much talking.'
-
Nichenbo looked curiously at the village. It was definatly a human village, so she was glad her ears were covered. "Excuse me, sir. Where is the nearest inn?" she asked, "Down the road on the left." he replied. Nichenbo smiled, thanked the man, and walked to the inn.
-
That night I was so joyful I couldn't sleep. Thinking through, I finally understood that I wasn't human, but maybe part wizard.
-
After reaching her assigned room, Eliade fell asleep. A definite hang over was heading her way tomorrow.
-
That night I also decided to run away. Not because of my power, but because I didn't want to be accused of witchcraft, something I would be burned on a fire for.
Its been a few months since that summer. Not I settled in the village of Slenderhov, where I work in a local inn. -
Nichenbo was able to get a small room. She made her way there, and made sure to lock her door behind her. She took off her cap and weapons, layed down in the bed, and slowly fell asleep.
-
She awoke the next morning with a smaller headache than she expected. She dressed and walked downstairs.

I always had a talent for cooking, so the inn manager took me as a cook. I would make all the meals, get some crops for myself, and sometimes a small payment from the customers.
