The smoke smelled like burnt fish. -
Also, I had no idea where my iPod was so I was about to have to leave my iPod to crackle and die.
Of course, it was in my coat so I probably would've still found it but that was a very mentally scarring experience man, you just don't know. -

mine smelt like burt paper.
I left my phone on my bed where it would've fried had it been a true raging fire
I totally freaked out
