Chapter One
Dipper looked outside of the bus window and sighed, wondering what Gravity Falls would be like, without the mystery and excitement him and Mabel had experienced their first year. He felt the bus slow down and come to a stop, right at the grove of trees where they had been picked up three years ago.
Dipper smiled as he saw the familiar faces of Soos and Grunkle Stan, then as he scanned the crowd, he noticed Wendy was there and a faint blush came across his cheeks. After all the years he had been away, he still felt the same way. "Come on Dipper, quit dawdling!" he heard someone call. He thought it might've been Grunkle Stan, but he wasn't sure. As he made his way off the bus, a sudden realization came over him that someone was missing. He looked Grunkle Stan, then Soos and it dawned up in him. Stanford was missing. This peaked his curiosity, and before he even realized it, the question was coming out if his mouth.
"Where is Stanford?" he said, the words seeming to echo off the trees. He could hear Mabel muttering a quiet 'Oh no' behind him. The crowd that had been there to welcome them, now shuffled uneasily and pushed Grunkle Stan to the front. Now that Dipper was closer to him, he could seen that Grunkle Stan's eyes were puffy and red from crying. Grunkle Stan opened his mouth, as if he were trying to say something, but no words would come. That's when Dipper ran up to him, and gave him a tight hug. "It's okay." he said, as Mabel dropped her bags and joined in on the hug.
Do is looked at the three of them and gave them a court nod, the looked back toward the Mystery Shack. "Welcome back to the Falls." he said, his tone solemn.
