It's hard to get into, the Gundam franchise. With complex backstories and a lot of background information, I recommend starting out by choosing which series has your favorite looking gundam.

The newest installment, Iron Blooded Orphans, is ready for newcomers to get into. If you want something serious and slightly more dark, IBO is a great first series.
