Awwww it reminds me of A Bug's Life :D um..... I think a female because they try to stay very camofolged in the environment usually.

Yes it is a female, =) males try to stay camouflaged too though, being eaten by birds doesn't sound good to anyone. lol

Yeah lol I was thinking it might have something to do with mothering and wanting to protect babies.

lol mantids lay their eggs and leave them, they rarely see the babies.

Yes this one is a male. Idk where exactly these are from cause I got the pics just typing praying mantis into google images. The first was a female european and the second is a male chinese though they can be found thoughout america. The Europeans came over on plants a long time ago, I'm not sure what the plants were exactly but they came by boat to just have more crops. The chinese are much bigger and were brought over for pest control.

Lol I don't like finding loose spider and things in my home but I keep mantids, spider, assassin bugs, and just random stuff. =)

lol I honestly haven't been too into bugs (eeek) but if I see them in the house I try to put it back outside.
