Ok so if you were by yourself with just a baseball bat and a pocket knife and you were in the middle of a suburban neighborhood and there were zombies roaming around and distant shots heard along with screams and things and your family was dead so it was just you, no needing to go find loved ones, what would you do?

well, honestly i would find better and more reliable melee weapons. a pocket knife has its uses, but if it cant penatrate into the white matter of the brain, than its useless. and the baseball bat would splinter ot bend depending on if it was metal or wood

It depends on the type of metal and the shaping of the bat, it's a decent weapon and it should hold up long enough to get you out of the neighborhood and on your way somewhere else. Regular pocket knife could come in handy just all around but yeah a stab to the temple would do the job.
I'd wanna die if my family had but I honestly wouldn't, I'd go on a rampage. Instead of going and holding up somewhere I'd be a nomad raider and kill zombies like crazy and just see how long I could survive on my own and if I died then oh well. -

sorry, i late posted to, i have to agree, i would have a helluva blood lust and would kill a freakin lot of the b------s. then if i got bit i would go down in a hail of bullets and blood
