I made it to High Hill, overlooking a small meadow. There, I saw a black spot amist the colorful flowers.
-
When I awoke it was evening. The pond a few meters away had many frogs croaking loudly. I stretched on the cool grass and started walking towards my house.
-
To my suprise, the black thing moved. It was a panther, walking away to something I couldn't see. I ran down High Hill, and scrambled after it. Eager to see where it was going.
-
I walked slowly in the thick forest, dodging oak and pine trees, plants and little animals. I enjoyed the birds chirping on the big branches and big leaves of exotic, only-in-Florida plants.
-
I changed into a small, brown kitten. I was always faster on all fours. I raced after the panther, not loosing sight of her once.
-
I suddenly heard little twigs breaking and little paws moving in the forest. I knew that whatever animal it was, it was smaller than me. So therefore, if it wanted to make a meal out of me, it would be my dinner. When the rustling in the forest was very close, I saw a little brown kitten scurrying towards me.
-
I saw that the panther has stopped, and was staring right at me. I halted, and stood very still.
-
"Hello there," I said in a calm, motherly tone in a language only animals could understand. "What are you doing out here so late?"
-
I hesitated before speaking, "Well, I was kinda curious of where you were going. And then, after a while, I realized I got kinda lost. So I tried to catch up to you, to ask for directions or something."
-
"Where do you need to go?" I asked. The full moon now hung high in the sky, and stars glistened on the night sky.
-
"Well...it's..." I thought a moment, realizing I hadn't yet learned my adress. "It's a house. It's kindaa small, red brick, and there's a garden out front."
-
I remembred a little house on the other side of the forest not far from here. I had recently hunted there for mice in my cobra form.
"Just one more thing," I said, and changed into a human, "Now lets go." I instructed, following the path of bended grass and flowers that I had made earlier. -
I was amazed. I didn't know of anyone else that could do that, but I decided to stay a cat. I don't know why, but I wanted to keep my gift a secret.
-
We walked for a long time, and a cold breeze blew, giving me goosebumps. In about an hour, I suddenly realized, that I was lost.
