His eyes flared red for a bit, then went back down to icy blue. "I had to kill them, you know that."

"I've never killed anyone in my life, human or vampire." She looked him in eyes, watching as they changed color.

"So? My dad would kill me if i didn't kill. Literatly."

"Hm. It was getting to that point for me, so I left."

"Well i don't really have a choice..." he muttered.

"You could stay with me, I'm not going back."

"Or i could just leave you because i can't leave my clan." he said.

"You can't?" She blinked. "And you're not really committed to me in any sort of way."

"No, i can't. And you're a girl i just met from an oppisite clan."

"Why not? And I know I am. I'm still glad you didn't kill me." She looked around. Seeing a flight of stairs, she climbed them and looked around the hallway.

"Because i'm the son of a leader of a clan with over a thousand vampires. I could never leave. That and, when my dad dies, i'm gonna be the next leader." he explained.

"I'm the only child my parents were able to have. When my dad's too old to be a leader, since they didn't want me in control..." She frowned. "It'll probably be yours for the taking."

"So they're gonna banish you from the clan?" he asked.

"If I refuse to get married, it'll fall into chaos." She returned from upstairs.

"And who might you get married to?"
