It was weird to be in the enemy clan's territory. And terrifying.

Chase opened the door to see his dad standing right there. "Yes?" his dad asked.

She stared at Chase's father. She wasn't able to speak. At all.

"Well ehm, Ellie's parents died in the war, and she's really upset about it. Could she sta here with me for a bit?" chase asked, hopeful that the answer would be a yes.

She looked up at Chase, then back at his father. She hoped there was no trace of Dorik scent.

His dad shrugged. "Whatever."

She didn't realize she'd been holding her breath. She smiled just a little.

He led her to a small room at the end of the hall.

She followed him, glancing in each open room down along the hallway.

He opened the door to a small room with deep blue walls and a small twin bed with light blue covers. Everything was some shade of blue.

She blinked. "Nice. Thanks, Chase."

"You're welcome, i'm a good lie-er." he said with a grin.

She nodded. "I can tell." She walked into the room, and sat down on the bed.

He closed the door and sat down next to her.

She looked at him. "Hm?"
