"I think we should keep it." Ellie stroked the little rabbit.

"Shut up!" his dad yelled, jumping off the table. "Listen. This.Never.Happened. You got me?" he said in an intimidating voice. Chase nodded, watching the bunny eat the celery stalk.

She took a few steps toward the Conelly leader, holding out the bunny. "He's not that bad."

His dad shrieked and stumbled back. "Get that thing away from me!" he yelled, walking back to his room and angrily shutting the door. Right when chase's dad shut the door, he burst out in laughter.

She couldn't hold back her laughter. A real laugh, not just a giggle. She snorted on accident, and stopped laughing, embarrassed.

He smirked at her and pet the bunny's head. "Yea....we should."

"What should we name it?" She lifted up the bunny, checking for certain reproductive parts. "She's a girl."

"How about lily?" he asked. It seemed like a pretty good name.

She nodded. "I like it."

"Now we just need a cage and some food for it..." he said, looking around the house. "You stay here with the bunny, i'm gonna get a cage."

"Oh, okay." She sat up on the counter, watching the rabbit.

He walked out to the animal tent, grabbing a small cage and a bag of fresh veggies, paying the cashier half price, of course.

"I don't see why anyone would be afraid of you..." she whispered. The bunny's nose twitched.

He walked back with the cage and veggies in hand.

I wonder why he's so afraid of rabbits... She looked up at the door Chase's father had left through.
(Is Chase's mother alive?)
