I don't know why, but I laughed at the thunder. I heard my sisters scream at the lightning, but I just laughed. It was a part of me; I loved it! I noticed that not once did it rain, with all of the clouds around us. I grinned up at the sky, and laughed when rain came pouring down. I spun around, and started dancing. And I NEVER danced in public.
-
"There. She's shut up. Happy?" Zeus rumbled from his throne, "Now, about the prophecy".
Apollo shrugged. "It seemed right for her to prophecy that."
"Well, I think whoever is Dusk's parent should speak up. " Demeter broke in, "she's the only unclaimed one who is going on the quest."
I felt my scalp prickle as I realized they had no idea I was there. Wedged in a shadowy corner, I listened harder. -
(Look, it's Nicki! *points to profile pic*)
I smiled up at the sky, closing my eyes. "Nicki, you should really come back to the cabin, before you get pneumonia." I jumped, startled. Silena smiled back. "H-how long have I been out here?"
"Oh, at least ten minutes. I'll admit, it looked like you were having a lot of fun, but I don't want you to get sick on us." She laughed and tugged on my arm gently.
I looked back at the sky again, and smiled. "Thank you," I whispered, and went back to my new home with my favorite half-sister. -
No one moved.
"No one will claim her?" Hestia said sadly from the hearth.
More silence.
I felt angry and, before I knew what I was doing, I leapt forward, "You know, claiming me WOULD be nice."
All of the gods and goddesses stared at me in surprise, except for Hestia, who nodded at me. -
We sat on the floor of the cabin, and ate jelly beans, which she had in plenty. She talked about how she found Camp Half-Blood when she was was my age (she was three years older than me), and how she was mad at her parents for a time because they didn't tell her.
"Just like me," I said quietly. Silena patted my back and hugged me. "You'll get used to it, Nicki." She promised. "You'll find that your brothers and sisters aren't very annoying all the time."
"Just most of the time."
Silena laughed. "Some of them, anyways, are really good friends once you get to know them." -
"How long have you been here?!" Apollo blurted. I glared at them.
-
I laughed as well. "Well, I hope some of my siblings are willing to get their hands dirty and build a chariot before it's too late."
Silena studied me for a few minutes, then smiled. "Would I be enough? I mean, we could talk some of the Hephaestus campers into helping us or something." -
Annabeth: I looked over Malcolm's shoulder at the design. "Wow, that looks awesome!" Malcolm smiled and drummed his pencil on the desk, thinking. I turned to Zair. "So, can you...show us how that works?"
(gtg, dad called. >:P) -
Um...Bianca?
-
HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Sure, but first" I grabbed a pencil and drew a small clip to the front of the chariot -
(HELLOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess what I'm doing right now!!! *jumps up and down, a little sugar high*)
Malcolm: I pointed to the clip. "What's this?" -
(FF?)
"It's for if everyone on the chariot is busy and no one can handle they reins. Or if someone falls off and there is no one to handle them. You just clip the reins in" -
(No, eating pancakes and watching Despicable Me!)
Malcolm: "Oh. That's handy. This way, we can fight off attacks and still drive at the same time." -
(I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!)
I smirked. At least he understood the simple, yet important, clip -
(IT'S AN AWESOME MOVIE!!! The girls just Freeze Ray'd Gru)
Annabeth: "So, what we need to know now is who's gonna be in it. We're allowed two people: one to drive, and one to fight."
