The man glared at me. "I am Hephaestus, god of the forge! I am the reason you can summon fire with your bare hands."
I raised my eyebrows. "So, if I got the fire form you, Lord Vulcan, what did I gain from Victoria?"
"You bring hope to the hearth, girl. You strengthen the family ties just by being here." -
Artemis paused, then smiled stonily at me, "Sarcasm doesn't worm on gods and goddesses."
I knew I was playing a dangerous game, but I shrugged and said, "Took you a good while to realize it was sarcasm." -
*work
-
I showed everyone what to do and soon, half the chariot was done
-
Clarisse: "We're going to win for sure!" I said.
I stared at the god. "I...create hope?"
"More like make it stronger."
"How powerful am I?"
Lord Vulcan thought for a moment. "Not as powerful as Elizab- one of Demeter's daughters, but powerful indeed. Not quite as much as that daughter of Hades, Ares, or whoever either." -
"You guys gonna do okay without me? I gotta get to the practice range. I have some class in strategy now"
-
Clarisse: I smiled. "Yeah, we'll be fine. I'll make sure the rest of us don't mess anything up."
-
"Okay. Have fun! And don't forget the spiked wheels. Don't make the wheels from wood since then they'd break!" I yelled, already running to the practice range. As I got nearer, I saw Annabeth at the strategy class. Maybe she would teach me or something
-
Her eyes flashed, "Dusk...don't start this. I did what I could to help you. Your parent will claim you eventually."
I snorted again, "Whatever."
And then she disappeared. -
Annabeth: I whacked at the dummies' head, slashing at their torsos. I hurled my dagger at their "hearts" and hit my mark. I stopped for a break and glared at the water basin. "Stupid Percy." I muttered. "Just because he has a Cyclopes brother."
I looked up, but Vulcan was gone. Probably to check up on that son of his. I felt around my waist and found a knife there, clean and freshly polished. "Uh, thanks?" I muttered. -
"Dummies don't have a chance, you should try live opponents. And your moves are a bit predictable" I said, walking toward her
-
Annabeth: I raised my eyebrows. "Predictable, huh? Well, I guess I could learn some new moves. Maybe you could teach me? The way you beat Percy so quickly yesterday...it was amazing."
-
"Stupid gods." I muttered, standing. The sky rumbled ominously, but I glared up, shouting, "That's right! You're stupid!" No more thunder sounded. The Lord of the Skies was probably shocked.

"Most think it was just skill, since I was claimed by Hades AND Ares. But most of it worked with strategy, something you know a lot about. A big mistake most fighters make, is eye contact. If there is eye contact within a fight, your opponent can almost see your next move. That's how I beat Percy. He kept trying to make eye contact, and made it a few times for a few milliseconds, which was enough for me to see his next few moves" I said, already going over knowledge I didnt know I had
-
Annabeth: "I'm impressed. I think there's plenty to learn from you. Besides that you're just as blood-thirsty as the rest of your Ares siblings."
