The other day, my non-fan friend and I attepmted to have a conversation regarding the band. It went something like this...
"Hey, you know that guy, Neal Harrold?"
Me: "No, I can't say that I do."
Friend: "But he's in that band you like so much."
Me: "Oh, did you mean Niall Horan?"
Friend: "Yeah, I guess. Whatever."

A while later, in a second conversation...
Friend: "Why do they wear skinny jeans all the time?"
Me: "Because they can."
Friend: "But I mean, why? It's like they want everyone to see-"
Me: "O-kay, I think we've established that people should not wear skinny jeans. Can we please move on now?"

As you can see, my friend quite obviously does not like the band as much as I do, despite my best efforts to convince her otherwise. Pity, that. -
Silverbluemoon- well not all of them wear skinny jeans... Niall dosnt, and i think its cute that he dont(: and my friend is like that too. Its actually kinda awesome that she dosnt know anything about them though, since i can say as many 1D related things as i want XD for example i might say something like:
"i love carrots. Do you like carrots?" and she wouldnt think twice about it(:
Or "vas happenin?" when she texts me, and she would just think i came up with it.
Or i can see a pigeon outside and name it kevin, and she wouldnt think twice about it, or i can say somethin like "i wish i had $4000..." (since thats how much front row seats and meet and greet passes cost) and she wouldnt care why. Lol, when i try to tell her about one direction, shes like "mmhmm" and "thats nice". So, i actually love her being not into one direction for i can say whatever 1D statement i want and she wouldnt even know XD -
SilverBlueMoon NoviceSports19, you're lucky though. Whenever I try to say something similar to that, my friend will ask me "Does that have anything to do with 1D?" in this tone that I cannot even begin to describe.
Actually, she'll just try to humiliate me whenever I attempt to talk about the band.
$4000? I didn't know that...it took me six years to save up half of that. I suppose I won't be meeting them anytime soon.
In a way, I prefer when it turns out that one of my friends is a fan as well. We can talk about them without having to launch into an extened backstory. For instance, the last time I stayed the night at my (other) friend's house, she asked if I was hungry. When I said yes, she pulled out these huge carrots from her backyard. I told her I loved carrots, to which she responded; "He's too old for you." I loved how we both knew exactly what the other meant without having to ask questions. -
Yea, thats how me and my other friend are. We could just be talking, and one of us could say "NO JIMMY PROTESTED" instead of "no" and we wouldnt even have to question it. I did that the other day(:
