FLgirl92 NewbieFirst, say where you are from. I am from Jacksonville, Florida.
If there is one thing that I think distinguishes Jacksonville from any other place musically, it is that we're more into country music than most places. Hip-hop and pop are still popular, and there are decent followings for rock and indie. As far as an actual band scene goes, however, it is kind of non-existant at this point. -
Albany, NY
We have a thriving hardcore scene, with alot of fan support of course. Hip-hop is big. Alot of people like Dave Matthews Band. Country music has a decent following- we have one of the best country radio stations in the country. Alot of artsy indie kids. Alot of kids are into techno or dubstep. And we have a large Latin American and West Indian population in the area, so hearing dancehall reggae or reggaeton is not uncommon. -
Near Worcester, Massachusetts
Not sure how to describe this, but oh well. In this town, there's mostly pop and whatever's new. There's also some rap/r&b but that's about it. ._. Boring town. Some people listen tto country, but not many. That's about all we listen to. -
England, United Kingdom.
I think we Brits are quite keen on our pop and alternative rock. I think we're quite open and welcoming to different genres of music, judging by the number ones here; R&B, soul, techno. However, we always return to what we know best. Look at some of the biggest artists/bands to emerge from the U.K.: Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Oasis, Blur, The Beatles, U2, e.t.c. Some of them, to my knowledge, have also headlined Glastonbury; the biggest and best music festival Great Britain has produced! So, yeah, we Brits will always return to our Britpop. -
Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Most every one listens to pop crap. I think im the only one except the old people that like classic rock. -
@Teresa: That's actually kind of interesting because Massachusetts for the last ten years or so has had a very strong metal and hardcore scene.

Cameron, NC
The pop and rock followings are pretty close. Next comes hip hop and rap. Finally, there's country. Its quite a close call because all are almost equal. -
@tongue Well it's a new generation I guess.
-
Colorado springs, Colorado
Mostly pop and all the new music and a good bit of rap. thats only from what i have seen. -
Bangor, Maine
There's a lot of everything, really. Some of the more hickish people love country, there's of course the gangsters and poppers, but there's also a lot of alternative culture here as well. And of course there's classic rock, which more older people seem to like. -
Millbrook, Alabama
Mostly rap, & pop. But I'm just guessing -
Quebec, Canada.
LMFAO, Lady Gaga, Kesha and Katy Perry are popular. Adele is pretty big. Mostly techno-french songs, Celine Dion still very big. Bruno Mars, Eminem and Rihanna get honorable mention. Surprisingly enough, no one can stand Justin Bieber, even us Canadians xD
