Like honestly, read it. It'll do you some good.
These are parts of the rant
"I suppose I can blame this on having listened to far too much music while I was at work and being unable to hit the "next button". I wish I could; because while I do not hate her, I am finding myself wanting to jam my finger down my throat and force vomit every time I hear Taylor Swift say the word "fairy tale".
I'm fully aware that she's "oh so young" and "oh so talented", but I'm finding her lyrics to be about as charming as a Miley Cyrus song. Actually, that one song by Miley "The Climb", was far more impressionable than "OMG OMG THIS IS A FAIRY TAAAALE", that I usually get out of Swift's works. While Miley didn't write the song, at least she has enough balls to pick one song that's beyond high school bulls---."
"In the song "Today was a Fairy Tale" she actually sings: "Today was a fairytale, I wore a dress".
Okay. So if I go out and purchase a dress and wear it, does this make me a princess? What the f--- part of "I wore a dress" is fairytale-esque? I guess I know what she's trying to say with the rest of the song, but goddamn it looks like she just didn't know what else to stick there. Let's mad lib it! YEAH."
"The song "Mean"....has a lyric: "Why you gotta be so mean?"
Seriously, she needs more internet time. We'll show her MEAN."
"This song is the epitome of stereotyping fifteen year old girls as wishy-washy love struck little floozies that aren't capable of thinking passed the cute boys and how much they wanna get married and haves the babiez.
"'Cause when you're fifteen and somebody tells you they love you
You're gonna believe them"
When I was fifteen and someone told me he loved me, I socked him in the face and told him to step off it. Yeah, I'm not a fifteen year old girl, but I know that fifteen year old girls have a tendency to not actually follow this stereotype. This is why the majority of dating teens shift through boyfriends as frequently as they do their panties. And the boys tend to be worse.
"And when you're fifteen feeling like there's nothing to figure out."
Again, I rarely encounter teens who don't question what their purpose is or what path their life is supposed to follow. Being a senior mentor, I came across a LOT of teens of the fifteen age. That's not to say it doesn't happen that way. I'm sure this song applies to many, but as often as I hear it, you'd think they were forcing it up my ass and into my brain to assure me that I am fifteen, female and in love with boy B in classroom 406." -
FLgirl92 NewbieI'm not a super big Taylor Swift fan, but I don't know why the hell people hate on her so much. Her songs have good melodies and are catchy. Her lyrics are honest and connect emotionally. And overall her music is really positive.
-
I wonder if you even read it :P The songs are cliche, the lyrics are too repetitive and overused, the melodies...eh...they're an 'okay' overall
-
mcr111 NoviceI like her sonngs. My fav. song is ours or haunted
-
FLgirl92 NewbieI read what you posted. But I don't agree with it.
-
I find her music cliche and dull. Everything's near same ol' same s---. I don't mind if people like her but her work isn't as good as everyone else says it is. Just trying to bring to light that it's not as bloody 'unique' as you think.
-
The link or my quotes I pulled out of it?
-
katanasky NoviceI get ya! I can't stand her music, her hair, her lyrics, her voice, her stuck up I'm a princess snottiness, call me jealous, but the world would be better without Taylor Swift
-
FLgirl92 NewbieThe quotes you pulled out. I didn't even see the link.
-
Link at the very top of my post. That's what I'm directing people to, not the quotes. Those are just my favourite parts.
@katana I think Taylor's pretty and talented, I wouldn't wish her death or anything, I just wish she'd stop writing the same repetitive s--- over and over again. -
I think her songs are too upbeat. They are just a little too sugary sweet for my tastes.
-
I liked her for a bit before, not really anymore, maybe like 1 or 2 I still kinda like. But the rest are blah. I don't hate her though.
-
I like her but shes not my fav
-
i respect your oppinion because everyone has their own

I have a best friend who's a HUGE Taylor Swift fan. I personally think her songs are decent. I read the link as well. YOu may think that it's just little kid stuff that should stay on Disney, but it just comes to show that not everyone has been introduced to the s--- going on in the world. If someone is innocent and happr, why try to bring them down? I was once a happy, bright, cheerful little kid. I smiled often and I was upset by small things. That ended quickly. I rarely smile, people call me depressed, and I find others' problems stupid and pointless. I find that I'm pretty much just an emotionless, cold blob now. Taylor Swift is still positive and trying to connect with people while they're at a young age and can still be eased into the s--- that is our world. Would you rather have someone throw a brick at kids and say, "This is the world. Deal with it"? Image yourself maybe ten years ago. How would you have dealt knowing all the stuff you know now? If you're about to say, "I could so deal with it b----" I guarentee you're wrong. Don't hate someone because they're happy and sucessful.
