Some of you may think that if an artist has a bad reputation or seems strange, you have to be embarassed to like them/know their music. You're wrong. Many of the 'odd' artists are actually independent and write some of the songs left that actually contain meaning .
Examples:
-Lady Gaga
-P!nk
-Katy Perry
-Many others I don't feel like listing right now
You may think they're weirdos or sluts or whatever, but they're all actually very independent. Perry and Gaga dress differently. So what? It shows independence which not many people have now adays. They have songs with strong meaning. Lady Gaga has songs about common problems such as bullying, family issues, individuality. So does Katy Perry and P!nk. Not all artists started at the top. -
Also, Demi Lavato. I know, I know you may think 'She came from Disney Channel, she must be a little princess'. You're wrong to think that. She was bullied, cut herself, and went to rehab. She's had some issues so don't think someone's job decides the issues they've had.

I don't like Katy Perry and Lovato. Not sure why they're on this list
but I ain't afraid to let people know I f---ing love Lady Gaga and P!nk (mainly pink)
PLEASE do not restrict yourself from enjoying things you like because you're afraid of what people think about you

As for Katy Perry, I like her as a person, but her music doesn't really fit in the category. -
Just trying to make a point. Don't have to like a person to defend them

I think a couple of her songs have meaning -
E.T. sounds more like about sex.
I do like Fireworks though. -
I don't know much about the singers themselves so I wouldn't be ashamed if I liked them. But ya I agree that some songs have meaning

tongue AdvancedUh, no. You wanna hear artists who actually have something meaningful to say in their music? Listen to Minor Threat, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, Korn, Seether, or even Disturbed. Nothing any of those artists writes can even touch the bands I listed when it comes to emotional depth or importance of subject matter.

@tongue It's an opinion to make a point. Those were examples. Calm down, she can't list every artist in the world with meaningful songs.

Eminem is one of few rappers I listen to because some of his songs actually have meaning. -
Try Miyavi, Florence and the Machine, and The White Stripes.
