Well here is my logic .
two people can play piano
Three people can sing
one person can play the drums
The more people who are capable of doing something in a group increase the amount of flexibility and experience the group has.
also, there are such things as duet piano,
break and play singing
lead singer
choir singer
backup singer
etc
etc.
