Thread Topic: I can't believe people call screamo music.

I mean, if I go by what they say about screamo, I "sing" at every basketball game whenever Peyton's winning.
Like seriously, a song is just fine, and then screaming comes in, and it's just like, "O.O Um, okay, I'm over this song..." And it's almost funny, it's so ridiculous to me, I just.... Could somebody please explain to me why some people actually like screamo? I just don't get it. -
And you're Skrillex is called music?
-
Oh look, a smart ass comment. Saw this coming.
Hn, and I suppose you actually like screamo? -
With Anri on this. You bashed another genre, so yours will be brought to attention. So sorry that it turned out this way.
-
Yes, I like screamo. And you don't get to Hn people if you don't know where the hell it came from. But back to the topic on hand.
Screamo gets a bad rep. Its not bad music, its really good and alot of people like it now. I really think you shouldn't e so bias about it. Skrillex, pardon my French, is an example of how the f---i music industry is desperate for something thing to grasp the attention of teens. But really if you look at most teenages music list its either Rap, Pop, Screamo, Alternative, Indie Rock, and alot of other things. dubstep drives me crazy because its a mash up of random beats and usualy a word or words repeated constantly.
So please, before you complain about some music genre you really don't understand, do some research and actually listen. -
This is relevant.

Screamo is music. It is vocals woth elegant screaminh mixed in between. Its an art form. Have you ever tried to legitly scream? Thats some tough s---. Just because you have a different view point, doesn't mean you need to plaster your judgmental ass opinion everywhere any chance you get. Even though you're my friend, you seriously need to keep your f---ing opinion to yourself sometimes. Plus, you've never actually expierenced screamo. Don't knock it by its stereotype. Thats the dumbest f---ing thing you do.
-
What do you classify as screamo? There is a difference between "screamo" and music with screaming. I could assume you know the difference and that you're just b----ing out people who like Escape the Fate. If that were the case I would be somewhat inclined to agree with you. That would be the smart thing to do.
But no, on general principle alone, I'm calling bulls---. First of all, much of the music I listen to contains screaming. So I have an issue with the fact that you would dismiss bands who use screaming as being without talent or artistic merit. Also screaming is not as easy as you make it out to be, it takes years of practice and proper technique to get it right, just like singing. Also I have an issue with the fact that you would dismiss an entire genre of music as being completely worthless. Certainly my preference is for aggressive metal, but I can still recognize the talent and artistry of people in different genres, and I would never bash someone for having different tastes from me, especially if they were someone who truly loved music the way I do. -
Its not nice to bash on other people's preferences if you can't handle them coming back at you.
Scremoor any music with screaming isn't my favorite, but there are some songs I do like. But have you ever listened to the lyrics? I mean really listen because they are quite poetic and are more deep than any pop song you can find on the radio.
Now dubstep I don't really like either. Especially when they remix songs because they just ruin them completely, but its okay to listen to if its just for fun and you want to bounce around and be silly. And mainly that's all its really good for. -
Yeah it really depends what's considered "Screamo" to you. There is a difference between Metal and Screamo...
-
banana said it all about dubstep.

And, yes, screamo, does have much deep meaning. Deeper than any pop song. -
"Yes, I like screamo. And you don't get to Hn people if you don't know where the hell it came from. But back to the topic on hand."
Freedom of speech.
I don't think Screamo is just two cheese graters combing against each other with high-pitched screaming and then raspy breathing after-wards (I just described the first dub-step track. XD, JK.) Leah, that's... Kind of over-simplifying things. :/ I support your opinion, but not the rhetoric.
There are also a few sentences in here that are also over-simplifying things, but I won't get in-to that. -
Dub-step is not just some-thing to bounce around and act silly about. Although... The genre title sounds like s---
Just saying... The word 'Dubstep' sounds... So silly. XD
