I found the song Hero by Skillet today on a Hetalia fanvid (thanks to Fluffy ^^) and I can't believe how well it relates to my life. Part of the song is "just another war, just another family torn." Because of the wars going on in Iraq and Afghanistan that my dad had to see and fight in it's taking a huge huge emotional toll on my family. Just another war makes me think of the government and media's attitude toward all of it. It's not their lives their fuking up, but the men and women who fight, die and get injured to keep this country safe while they screw everything up in domestic politics and the economy.
Anyways this song makes my heart deal restless but strong at the same time because it speaks the truth to me. Who is my hero? Jesus definitely even though I forget about him. I try to be my own hero 90% of the time because I have terrible trust issues. "I have to fight today, to live another day." I know I'm not in danger physically but everyday feels like a mental fight to keep going and stay alive.
It almost hurts to listen to it because it strikes the most vulnerable part of me, it's hit my heart. I have to stay strong and strive no matter what. This song describes my life and kinda inspires me. -
