I don't listen to mainstream rap. I'm more into joke or slightly nerdy rap. x3 I like the sound of hip hop generally, though, especially when combined with another element or genre.

I have two friends who listen to rap, yet between the two, the music sounds completely different. Not all rap is "first I park my car, swag, then I f--- your b----, swag" (I'm sure at least a few of you know who Lil B is). A lot of it is actually really deep and meaningful, it just isn't mainstream, so you don't hear a lot of it. Go listen to Illmatic by Nas and tell me that is not one of the greatest records you've ever heard in ANY genre.
