Music is so much more than entertainment. It is so much more than the s--- that is being implemented into the empty minds of the masses. For centuries music has been used to spread knowledge and spread ideas, to connect different lands with each other and bring new people together, something no mainstream crap has ever been able to do. Simply put, it is unintelligent, meaningful, and just plain awful. So many people nowadays think they know music so well, that "music is their life". Oh, so you're a teenage girl that listens to pop and claims music is your life? Tell me more about your knowledge of complex time signatures, your collection of vinyls/CDs, and how many instruments you play. For f---'s sake, YOU KNOW NOTHING OF MUSIC!

dani123 JuniorI'm 13 and I listen to pop music. My favorite artist is Justin Bieber. So according to you I must know nothing about music.
Knowledge of complex time signatures:
1. Simple duple time, simple triple time, quadruple time. 4/4 means 4 beats per bar, 3/4 means 3 beats per bar and so on.
2. I play the piano for 7 years.
3. I own every Justin Bieber CD and I have One Direction's Take Me Home album.
4. I attend piano grade exams. I'm in Grade 5 this year and I have my exam in November. I'm in Grade 3 for Music theory.
5. Music is my life. -
You think that owning every Justin Beibe CD and a One Direction CD helps? Well no offence it doesn't I own a complete edition of the Beach Boys CD's 80's hits CD's I have a wide taste in music I'm struggeling to learn how to play guitar but I'm still trying. Plus you're text book music not soul music so music is not your life.

dani123 JuniorI believe music is my life because I practice the piano 2-3 hours, that's how dedicated I am, then I play some of my own stuff. I take singing lessons one hour a week. I can sing and play the piano at the same time and it took a lot of hard work and dedication to do that as the beat, rhythm, voice, breathing and consistency can go wrong. I listen to my own favorite music but I'm open to all kinds of music although none of the music created by previous generations interest me. Maybe when I'm older my music taste will change but for now it's staying with my idol. If music wasn't my life I would've never bothered to dedicate my time to achieving what I can achieve now. I could have been out chilling with my friends, reading a book, whatever but no. I decide to sit by the piano and work on things that I've done wrong.

I'm sorry but even 'mainstream crap' can do all of those things. Any genre can bring new people together, even mainstream. Also, once in a while, a mainstream song introduces a new theme to their songs so your point is invalid. Another thing is that people also can talk about mainstream music bringing them closer. -
LOL I see absolutely no evidence that supports any of your claims about mainstream crap, so I will stand by what I know is true.

I just listen to what I like. Music isn't my life, but it's something that makes me happy and feeds my creativity.
And even though I'm no fan of Justin Bieber, at least dani seems to really make an effort to practice music and enjoy life. I respect that.
Just live and let live, ya know. -
Oldies all the way.

If you don't know who the first person is without looking it up, you are what's wrong with the world.

Awesome meme.

dani123 JuniorThank you Anastasia. It's nice to hear that people can respect you without calling me uncool or nerdy for dedicating yourself to music.
-
I love Frank Sinatra. ;3;

I love oldies

I'm sorry everyone but I'm with Hik on this one. Modern "music" disgusts me.

"It's nice to hear that people can respect you without calling me uncool or nerdy for dedicating yourself to music."
Did you seriously just say that? As if dedicating yourself to "music" makes you some kind of outsider? Seriously, just stop. That is all I have to say to you, jsut stop.
