It is very true. The band released a statement and everything. I'm not particularly sad. MCR just kind of stopped functioning after their first two records. They pretty much fought tooth and nail not to be an emo band, but they really couldn't be anything but that. So this is neither sad nor surprising. The good news for all you scene kids is that Fall Out Boy is reuniting.

MCR is NOT an emo band. They're rock and roll, obviously. They don't succumb to stereotypes like you seem to. And all of their records were good, not just the first two. And just because you like this genre of music, it doesn't make you a scene kid. I hate scene people and I like MCR.
It's a shame that they broke up. I'm devastated. -

I'm neither emo nor scene,but I love their music.
Everybody who says they suck,hasn't at least listened to 3 songs by them other than some of their famous works.I don't understand what a band must have for you guys to appreciate it.It's no justin bieber crap,their work was both creative and good.
If you still insist that they sucked,buy their second album,three cheers for sweet revenge,then judge.
Also,I'm neither a f---ing emo nor a f---ing scene dammit.
