I mean it has nice cheery songs but the just.... meh.

I just personally think Tim Burton's status as a "creative genius" is completely unwarranted at this point. The stream of commercial mediocrity he has produced now far outweighs anything he ever made that was good. I still can't get over what he did to Willy Wonka. I will always love Tim Burton for his direction of the original Batman films and Edward Scissorhands, and his animated films are top-notch, but aside from that, he's really just as guilty as anyone of producing cheap Hollywood garbage.
