The note
For Angel Gale, life was hard, but blissful.
Though her mother died when she was only eight years old, she managed to cope, every day she smiled at every person she saw in the halls, she tried to be nice and make friends, she was well known for being sweet and cheerful, her grades were good, she was just the perfect, perfect girl.
Now sometimes though, we all tend to do things we regret, we make mistakes or care real late, it's of our nature.
But sometimes, the tiniest mistakes can lead to the biggest problems, ones that could drive people crazy or cost you your life…
Her father was a teacher at the school, he didn't teach her because he couldn't, it wasn't aloud, a different teacher taught her his subject, not that he minded in the slightest, every day, on those quiet nights, he would sit by the warm golden glow of the light and flick through page after page of the notebooks, the way it curved nicely as he flicked through, time flying by so quickly he could've sworn it was only two minutes ago that he had just sat down.
Life was hard, but blissful.
One day, during English class, Angel was staring at her textbook, when she noticed two brown eyes staring at her from across the room; she cocked her head slightly to see Sweta Purser staring at her, her face was blank, if anything, she seemed slightly angry.
Angel ignored her at first, but found it hard to do so because Sweta wouldn't stop staring at her, only to tear her gaze away if she were to brush a lock of her black hair out of the way, or to go throw something in the bin.
Why is she staring at me? Angel wondered, she found it so weird that this girl was staring at her, they called her Sweta Rain Cloud, everywhere she went, she was gloomy, she was sad, she was angry, she was so pessimistic, never happy, her parents were alive, but split up and dumped her at her grandparent's house from her dad's side, she had no cousins, or siblings, just one aunt she probably saw once a year, she suffered from depression, lonely all the time, Angel felt sorry for her and tried to talk to her, but it just wasn't possible, Sweta Rain Cloud was just beyond help and unapproachable.
When class ended, Angel headed out along with the others, Sweta was right behind her.
She stopped. So did Sweta.
"Um… Hi there, do you… um, need anything?"
She didn't reply.
"Cause… y'know, I saw you staring at me and all and I just wondered if you, I don't know, needed anything?"
She stared at her, as if she was willing to rip her heart out then and there.
Then, she lifted her finger up to her chin, and hissed, "You need to watch out, you could die easily,"
And with that, she walked away with a stony face, leaving Angel standing there, threatened, baffled, scared and confused at what had just happened.

That night, as she was brushing her teeth ready to go to bed, she still couldn't get that image out of her mind, Sweta was a loner, she never talked, she was anti social, but she never really seemed like a… psychopath, and what did she mean by, "That Angel had to watch out"?
None of it made sense to her, she was alone and scared, and not sure of what to do, should she tell someone? Or wait to see if anything else came up?
She decided that maybe she should ask her father; he could comfort her or do something about it the next day.
She rinsed her mouth, then headed out in to the cold corridor, towards the golden light coming from just under the door, knocked three times, and entered.
Her father looked up, "Hello Angel, need anything?"
"Um, I want to talk to you,"
"What is it?"
She walked over to him and put her small pale hands on the oak table.
"You see, there's the girl - Sweta, you know her, right?"
"Yes I know her, what about her?"
She told him what had happened, from Sweta staring at her to 'threatening' her, and telling her to watch out for something she didn't know of.
He listened patiently with a worried frown, this behavior wasn't normal in the slightest, what did this girl plan to do?
"Listen sweetie," he tried to stay confident, although he was creeped out and feared for his daughter, "Just… well, I can't say try to forget it, but I'll talk to the school counselor in the morning and sort things out, ok? Just promise me that you'll tell me if this girl does anything weird again,"
And she left, feeling a bit better.

The next day, Ms. Key was checking everybody's books, she taught Angel and Sweta, and when she opened Angel's book, she saw a pink paper stuck on page 7 saying, "Meet me behind the school as soon as you see this,"
This wasn't Angel's handwriting, Ms. Key looked all through the books, searching for an identical hand writing, now normally this was none of her business, but Mr. Gale had told all the teachers that if they saw anything suspicious to do with Angel and Sweta, then they should tell him, and if this note…
She saw it, she had opened Sweta's text book and saw her handwriting, this note was written by her, to Angel. That spelt trouble all over it.
She got up, and rushed over to Mr. Gale, she found him in Angel's class room.
"I was looking for her because I wanted to talk to her about Sweta, see if she did anythi-"
"Look at this!" she cried frantically and showed him the note, "It's Sweta's handwriting, I found it in Angel's book,"
He gawped at it, the color draining from his face, "I… ch-checked every where,"
"Then she must be where we think she is,"
*
When they reached the back of the school, nobody was there.
Mr. Gale's heart was beating fast, he was panting hard and searching frantically, what would Sweta do with Angel?
Then, all of a sudden, behind the two, came a shrieked cry of fear, "She's got a gun!"
They both turned round to see Angel staring at them, she was unharmed, but scared, shivering with fear, her eyes wide, her lips trembling, she pointed to the gate.
Standing by the gate, was Sweta, her eyes bloodshot, carrying a gun, it was a small one, but she looked ready to fight like mad at any minute.
"What do we do know?" Ms. Key whispered to Mr. Gale, they couldn't get any where near her, they were stuck.
"Now Sweta," said Mr. Gale calmly, "Put the gun-"
"I WANT TO DIE!!!!" she screamed suddenly, they expected to hear gunshots, but instead, she fled, ran away down the street all three of them were too scared to do anything but hug eachother like mad and cry, relieved that nobody would die today.
But it wasn't over yet. They headed back inside, talked to the principal then called the police, after that, things went quiet, they couldn't find Sweta.
The next day though, Mr. Gale woke up Angel from her bed and sat next to her, his expression solemn, "They say that she wanted to kill you, and then take her own life,"
Angel stared at him with wide eyes, she had not slept from shock and fear of what had happened, she could have easily died if not for her father and her English teacher.
"But, I never did anything to her!"
"Well, she wasn't right in the head to begin with, they say that she got her gun when she went to her dad's house for a visit, of course he didn't know she had smuggled it away from him or that she planned to kill anybody, the only thing that they can muster up is that she was jealous of you and wanted you dead before she died.
But I guess, seeing as we were in the way, she might have panicked and that's why she ran away."
"What are they going to do with her now?"
"Nothing, she shot herself,"
And the rest of those days were solemn, and fearful, there was an empty seat by the left wall in which would never be occupied again. And the Angel everybody knew turned in to a Rain Cloud of gloom and sadness, a shadow of a g -
Girl who suffered in life.
