Chapter 1
I sit by the window, looking down on the Centri. The shouting and laughter below is still strange to me. Coming from the Southern Zone, water, the eccentric people of the Centri, with their bright colours and weird hair. Its new. All of it.
Back home we have simple homes. Wood, no electricity (only when The Hunt is televised), mould, metal and mud. I miss my family. My Father, Wai. My twin Leporis, my other brother Skaen and little sister Koia. They are probably crying, they know that if you are very lucky you can get out alive. Most people die, in fact anyone that goes in, will never come out. Only a few, throughout the years have lived to tell the tale of The Hunt. Our Zone has got 2 survivors one of them is a 20 year old called Winter, my mentor, and Buzz (a 40 year old man). The other Zones have way more. They are trained since they are 4 years old.
Back to reality; I sigh. I rise and go to my bed. I change the screen on the window to a green field with a Rocaw, the cross between a Robin and a Scarlet Macaw, flying around its nest. I hear banging on my door with Lartius booming voice summoning me for dinner. I jump off my bed and walk into the long hallway towards the dining hall. I get to the grand hall and stare at the tables of rich food. Lartius laughs Take your pick. I almost sprint to the seafood table and pick out prawns, oysters and a huge lobster; I pile them on my plate. I walk over to the table and sit down. I eat the oysters and pawns; I leave the lobster for last. "I hope you know how to eat that" says Lartius. "Of course. I do come from a fishing town" I chuckle. He rolls his eyes and eats his meat.
"So what are we going to do for The Hunt? Do we have a strategy?" asks Crucis, the other unfortunate going into The Hunt.
The Hunt is when Honours are picked to face challenges. On the last day where there is only 4 people left, Wolf mutations chase them to the end of the arena, a door lies in wait for the survivors. But the Wolfs are viscous and they kill them all, most of the time. The Centri call it fun. I dont I call it murder.
"We have no strategy" says Lartius "All the strategies we have... they end up killing our mentees"
"I have my own strategy" I say bluntly. Its so silent you could hear a flys wing beat.
"Well what is it?" asks Crucis. All eyes on are on me.
"Im not going to tell you. Its my own "I say.
"Were a team" says Crucis "Tell me"
"Well, I dont like you so no"
"But"
"No!" the anger in my voice rising.
"Bu-"
"NO!" I throw my cutlery on my plate and storm to my room. I lock the door and dive on my bed and scream into the pillow. I stop screaming Savera chill I tell myself. I sit up and look at the trees. Tears fall down my face. I take a deep breath and walk to the shower. I strip off my clothes and pick the seaweed foam shower. It smells of home. When Im done I walk to the huge mirror and brush my brown and silver hair. I ignore that it is still dripping wet and I climb into bed, naked and wet. I cry myself to sleep.
I dream of the town I grew up in. Ashshore. It is a basically a lake with houses around it. I dream of Phox, my boyfriend, he smiles and hugs me. He lives in the Eastern Zone. Zones are not allowed to have contact but we do. He lives in a village near the Zones boarder. Like I do. So we can see each other whenever. His green and blue eyes sparkle into moonlight. Suddenly everything changes. It changes to The Hunt. Before me, my entire family and friends lie dead on the floor. I wake up screaming. No one comes to my room. I guess my outburst at dinner, made them hate me. Eventually they will end up despising me. I lay on my bed, now unable to sleep. I look at the necklace Phox gave me when we talked, sparkling shells and pearls. Lets hope that I will live to see him again.

Chapter 2
I wake up to the sound of shouting. It's Cen, my stylist, and Lartius arguing about that they should dress me in for the Talent Show. I rub my eyes and rise from the bed. I walk to the shower so do what I did last night. I brush my hair so it feels smooth and not frizzy. I throw on anything and go out into the hall. I follow the shouting and see Cen and Lartius arguing face to face, they don't even take a breath. "Well its nice to see you too, Cen!" I say cheery. They stop and look at me.
"Savera!" Cen smiles. He walks up to me and kisses my cheeks. "Ok I have two designs" He shows me a blue, sparkly asymmetrical dress that flows at the feet end. And another on then when spun it looks like a waterfall.
"So what is wrong with them?" I ask.
"They don't look right on you" says Lartius.
"No they are fine" says Cen shooting daggers at Lartius. They never got on.
"Well" I say "I think I should try them on. Then I will decide" They laugh.
"Ok then, that one first" says Lartius pointing at the blue, sparkly dress. I pick the dress up and walk to my room. I put it on as well as the shoes that have to high heels and the bracelet. I stumble back to the others. "So what do you think?" I ask. They applauded and take a picture. I then try the other one on. They applaud again and I go back to my room and put my clothes back on.
I get back to Cen and Lartius. Cen shows me the pictures. "Hm... I chose.... that one" I point to the waterfall dress.
"No wonder, its perfect" smiles Cen. He bags the two dresses up and leaves the chosen one in my room. "Ok all we need to do is find Crucis" says Lartius "Then we, you two, can go to training" I chuckle and go to Curcis' room. Hes not there. So next I try the roof. The roof is so windy you can barely stand up. I see Crucis sitting by the north side. "Crucis I'm sorry I snapped at dinner yesterday" I say standing next to him.
"Thats ok, Savera"
"We need to get to training, now" I smirk "By order of Lord Lartius!" We chuckle and leave the roof. We get back down the others. They bid us farewell and lead us to the elevator. "Remember, in 2 days the Huntmakers will wish to see your moves, so don't show off too much" laughs Winter.
"We wont" we smile. She smiles and pushes us into the elevator. It has that new smell, but mainly the smell of metal. As we go down the floors, the lights shift up.
We get to the Training arena. We're the last there because its already started. I go to the fire-making section while Crucis brushes up his skills on throwing. The teacher on my section seems happy that there is at least one person with her. She teaches me on how to light a fire using just dried leaves and flint. Wicked. Next try making a fire using matches. Well it is the easiest.
Next I move onto the sector where the teacher shows me which bugs are good to eat and not to eat. All that kills at least an hour, we get two hours Training. Next I go to the section where it teaches me how to purify sea water, I already know how to do this. As the clock ticks on, I get round 3 more stations. Everyone piles into the lift and at all the different levels the Honours leave. Its gets to ours and we leave. We eat until we cant move and I fall asleep on the couch.

Chapter 3
I walk up to Cen shaking me and saying somthing. "Wa?" i ask sleepily.
"We're goona be late for the talent show" whispers Cen. My eye bolt open and I sit upright.
"How long til the Show?" i ask.
"3 hours"
"I need that DRESS!" i shout. Cen smiles and the rest of the prep team come in. They take me to my room and they start stripping my body of unruly hair. They start with my legs. Everytime Pormia pulls off a wax strip, I let out aloud 'OW'. She just laughs. The others, Byona and Hifir, set up the make up. Byona plucks my eyebrows while Pormia is doing my legs and arms. They finish and run me a bath. My skin is tingling furiously and I get into the bath. Its smells weird. I think it's mint, blueberry and freshly cut grass. Hifir washes my hair. After about what feels like forever they drag me out and call in Cen. He checks my naked body for any impurities. He claps at the prep teams work on me. He tells them to curl my hair and make the silver in it stand out. My makeup is simple, pink lips, a small amount of blusher and light blue eye shadow. Cen helps me into my dress. He hands me the shell necklace and puts it on. "Perfect" he says steping away from me.
"Really?" i ask.
"Of cource" he smile "May I lead you to the stage, my lady"
"Why, sure. Lord Cen" i joke. We laugh and walk into the main room and Crucis stands there with his stylist, Liena. He wears a blue suit and black shoes.
We get lead into the eleavtor and go down to the Stage. We wait in a room offstage untill it is our turn. There are 3 people from Northen Zone, the only name I remember is Ento Trate, a big burly teen with jet black hair and red eyes. There are 4 from Westren Zone, only two stand out. A girl called, May-Blue Clavo, brown haired, blue eyed, small. And Jurs Zet, a boy, long hair, small about 12. There are 2 people from Eastern Zone, I don't know any of them. Then its us.

Chapter 4
Girls go first. I shyly walk on the stage; it's all part of my tactic. The interviewer/judge sits on a pure white soft chair, with another next to it. "And here's our next Talentee, Savera Roxen, please sit" says Flux Yule, the interviewer/judge gesturing for me to sit. I sit on the soft chair. I almost sink into it. Flux laughs "So do you like your time in the Centri?" he asks "Whats your favourite part?"
"Well, Flux, I have been enjoying my time here" i say softly "I love the... People"
"Aah the people of the Centri"
"Yup, them. They are very different to the people in the Southern Zone. We... urm... don't dress weirdly"
Flux laughs "Yes we are well known for being eccentric. Aren't we Centri?" The audience cheers and claps. I laugh nervously and continue "Back home we have less crazy outfits"
"Like what?" asks Flux leaning in.
"We have practical clothes, for fishing, farming. Stuff like that" I chuckle.
"Now moving on to more personal stuff.... Do you have many family members?"
"Yes, yes I do" I sit up straight and begin to smile. "I have a twin called Leporis" I wave. "My father Wai" I'm still waving. "Younger brother Skaen and little sister Koia who is turning 13 at the end of The Hunt"
"Well hello Roxen family!" smiles Flux to the camera. The audience cheers. "Do Savera, do you have a boyfriend?"
Uh oh! "No" i say.
"Oh come on, a girl like you not having a boyfriend" says Flux not believing me.
"Ok, you got it out of me. I do" The audience is on tender hooks. "His name is" I take a deep breath "Phox Selerk"
The audience says "Awwwwwwwww" Flux calms them down. "Sooooooo sweet!" he smiles "Now back to the show. What will your talent be for today then?" he asks.
"I'm going to sing" I smile. Flux glows then gasps "Well we haven't had a singer lately so..... The stage is yours!" He gestures to me then the floor. I stand up and take a deep breath and sing.

The stars sang as we watched them,
My heart always skipped a beat.

I finish, everyone one is silent. I guess the whole of Aymon is staring at me on the TV screen. I look over at Flux, his grin reaching his ears. One camera is zoomed in on me and another on the audience and another on Flux.

Chapter 5
About 5 minutes of silence has passed. Was I that bad? Then the whole room exploads into an applause. They are cheering and shouting. Flux's grin reaches his ears. I look at Cen and Winter, on the balcony, they are smiling and clapping. I beam with happyness. The room is full of astounded people. Flux says something, but I can't hear him, until someone hand him a megaphone. A bit dramatic. "Ok, Ok everyone settle!" shouts Flux's booming voice through the megaphone "Settle down! Now!" I can feel the room going out of control. I bet they, the Centri, have stooped broadcasting. I feel someone grab my arm. It's Winter, she gives me a 'come with me' look. I nod and follow her off stage. She takes me to the room we where in before I went on stage.
"What happened?" I ask.
"When Flux tried to calm them down, the Centri cut the power on the show, so when they calm down, Crucis can go on" says Winter. Crucis smiles.
"You where great!" smiles Cen and Crucis.
I smile "Thanks!"
After 1 hour the audience has calmed down enough so Crucis can go on stage. I zoneout for most of the conversation. I get nudged by Lartius do directs my attention back to the screen.
"So Crucis, do you have a girlfriend?" asks Flux.
"Urm.... no" says Crusic shaking his head.
"A good looking man like you, your lying!"
"Well, there is this one girl"
"Well if you win I'm sure she'll go out with her"
"I don't think winning would help"
"Why?"
"She came here with me"
WHAT! IT'S ME! WHY ME! I HAVE A BOYFRIEND!! I can feel the camera on my face. I'm dumbfounded. My face is in a state of shock. I can't belive he said that.
"Well thats a shame" says Flux. The next parts following this announcement, I zoneout completly. It's still sinking in. I'm gonna kill him! -
