Capter 17
I see her on the floor with a dagger sticking into her chest. I rush over to her and hold her up. I hold back the tears.
"Chive... Chive! Your going to be ok!" I say.
"We all know that... I'm not... going to make... it" she gasps. The dagger stuck straight into her heart.
"Don't talk like that!" I say "You will be fine!"
She shakes her head "Can you do... one thing for... me?" she asks.
"Sure what!?" I ask.
"Sing"
I nod.
"Thank you"
I sing It was a winter's twilight,
We sat under the willow tree,
The green grass as our pillow.
Our love is all we have,
And try as we did,
We stuck together.
The moon shone bright,
The stars sang as we watched them,
My heart always skipped a beat.
I look at Chive happy tears roll down her face and she smiles. I continue.
We said we'd always be there for each other,
No matter what people said.
We sat under the willow tree,
The green grass as our pillow,
Looking at the stars.
BOOM! 21 dead, 5 alive. I look down at Chive. I hold her hand and wipe the tears off her face. I lay her peacefully on the floor and I take out the dagger. I zip up her jacket. I stand up and find the river. I bend down and pick up as many shells as I can. I return to Chive and place them around her, I also weeve them into her hair. No doubt that the Centri have stopped broadcasting. I get her bag and sling it on my shoulder. I cross my middle and ring finger to my lips and hold it out towards the way of the Centri. I walk away and I don't look back. I hear the Jet come and take her up. I keep walking.
I don't know where I am but I keep walking the way I am. Soon enough there will be something telling us which way to go. Untill then we just walk for as long as we can. I walk into a clearing. It seems to be the left-overs of a camp. I walk around and inspect it. No food, shame. I wander past trees that have been tapped for water. Speaking of which... I have none. "Great. I have no water" I say. I sniff. I smell water, yeah I know it's weird. If in doubt follow your nose. I follow my nose to a stream. I don't go into the stream right away. I look for any other people. Its clear so I precede. I get out my water bottle and load it to the top with water. I do the same with Chive's bottle. I put the purifier in them and wait 10 minutes for water to be safe to drink.
After 10 minutes I gulp down the water. I refill the bottles and purify them. I repack my bag and leave. I find a tree, I look up at the big weeping willow. It has some good branches. I climb up and settle myself down. I tie myself down and take out my blacket. I fold it against the tree tunk. The sky goes dark and the Centri symbol appears. While the Anthem plays I see the boy I killed and Chive. I smile. The symbol reapears and the anthem finishes. I close my eyes and sleep.

Chapter 18
The bright sun light is on my face. I shield my eyes and open them. I fold the blanket into my bag and slip out of my sleeping bag. I crumple that up into my bag. I take a gulp of water and look at the sky. I see a cloud in the shape of an arrow pointing north. I smile. I slide down the tree and I follow the cloud. I walk past many trees and some animals squak and chirp when I walk past them. I see a snake follow me from behind. I turn around and stare at it. It slips away. A branch cracks. I stop and load an arrow. From the trees comes May-Blue. As I fire an arrow she throws a dagger. We both dodge them. I speed off while still following the cloud. I feel about 3 daggers zoom past me. I feel the wind in the throws. As I speed through the forest my face gets thwacked by tree branches and bushes. I look behind and see that she is not there. I look around. "AAAAHH!" screams May-Blue. From a tree she dives on me. I fall face first into a mud puddle. She spins me over and I squarm, trying to get her off. She pulls out a dagger and goes to stab my head. I move my head and she stabs my hair. I try to reach for my bag but it is out of my reach. May-Blue laughs, she raises an other dagger and....
Varn Oppo, from Chive's zone, dive on May-Blue and pins her to a tree.
"ENTO, ENTO!" shouts May-Blue.
"SHUT IT!" shouts Varn. Varn grabs two of her daggers and uses them to pin her and her jacket to the tree. Then he turns to me, still with one hand on May-Blue. "You can do the honours" he says. I nod and load an arrow. As I relise the arrow, Ento and Crucis came running onto us. BOOM![/i] 22 dead, 4 alive.
They run past us. I see Crucis stare at me. From where they ran I can hear the growling of the Wolf mutations getting louder and louder. I can see the eyes of them getting bigger and bigger. I look at Varn. He nods and we run. We run past the trees. We keep running untill we get into another clearing. The sky gets darker even though it is about midday. The fake moon is above us. This is where we leave The Hunt. We stand in a circle. My hand is on my bow and by my quiver. The mutations surrond us waiting for the last two Honours. I look at Varn with his hans on his sword, then I look at Ento with his hand on his hammer. I finally look at Crucis who has his hand on his, what was mine, Trident. I hear the shallow breathing of the Wolves. I look around everyone on more time.
Ento runs at me and Varn runs at Crucis. I grab an arrow and stab Ento as he runs at me. I fall on the floor and he reaches for his hammer. I can't move. I landed on my arm, I heard it snap as well as my leg. My other arm is in between me and Ento. [
b]BOOM! I look around. I see Varn laying on the floor with Crucis pulling out a sword from him. I stare at him with wide eyes. The Wolves are relised and I am dived on by them. Ento is ripped apart right in front of me. They open their mouths and...

Chapter 18

Chapter 19
Crucis dives on the Wolves, with his trident and stabs and kills them. I watch him kill them. I blink as a bright light enters the arena. The door has opened. I all I can see is the light and noone there. The wolves know not to go through because if they do they are shot on sight. I slowly get to my feet. My eyesight moves over to Crcuis who is submerged in Wolf mutations. I get out my dagger and kill any of them.
"GET UP!" I scream at him.
"No!" he says seriously "Go"
I stare at him. He wants me to win..... Wh- I know why. He wanted me to win all along... More Wolves dive on Crucis tearing him apart. Out of mercy I load my final arrow. I pull back the string.
I hear him whisper "Thank you, Savera" Tears fall down my face. Goodbye my friend.... I relise the arrow and it hits Crucis in the head. BOOM! 25 dead, 1 winner. I look at the wolves. They are moving back into the forest. I slowly wipe the tears off my face and I walk into the light.
I shield my eyes from the light. I walk into an open space. I look around. It's where the Jets landed. I take a deep breath of fresh air. I see a Jet land in front of me. The wind from the engines knocks me off my feet. I quickly stand up when I see a happy face walk up to me. It's Cen. We run at each other and have a long embrace. I cry into his shoulder. "He wanted you to do it" whispers Cen "Everyone knows you meant well" I nod and continue sobbing. Some SafeKeepers come over to us and herd us into the Jet. The whole way back I cry into Cens chest and I get my tracker removed.
We land back in the Centri. We stand up and I hold Cen's hand. We exit the Jet and I get swamped with Newreports and Journalists. I keep repeating "No comment" to them. We get back to the Penthouse and I get attacked by Liena, Hifir, Byona, Pormia, Winter and Lartius who make me fall on the floor. It's just a massive group hug, while on the floor. After about 1 hour they let me go.
"You won!" shouts Winter "WE FINALY HAVE A WINNER! After me of course"
I nod.
Lartius laughs "We all cried when you won"
"And when Crucis died" says Liena.
I nod agian.
"Jewel! You won! Yippy!" says Pormia.
"My work of art made it!" sasy Byona happily.
Hifir helps me up and he does some kind of happy dance. I laugh.
"SHE LAUGHS!" laughs Hifir.
"Tomorrow you will have an interview and you will answer the Centri's questions" says Lartius.
"I would like to sleep now" I say to them.
"Well that is understandable" says Liena.
I get hugged by them one more time. And I head to my room.
I walk past Crucis' room. I slowly open the door and look at his bed "I'm sorry" I say. I close the door and walk to my room. I have a rose and Tulip shower. I use the coconut shampoo on my hair and I wash it out. I then brush the knots out of my hair and climb into my warm soft bed. I fall asleep with one final thought.
Crucis' soul will never leave the arena.....

Chapter 20
"Savera....... wake up" says Cen "Wake up"
I roll over and moan.
"Come on you have 1 hour til the interview"
I moan and open one eye to see that Cen's chocolate brown eyes looking at me.
"5 more mins?"
He shakes his head.
"Awwwwwww man!" I groan "Send them in"
"I was going to" laughs Cen. He turns to leave.
"WAIT! What time is it?"
"11 o'clock"
"Whoa"
He smiles and leaves.
The prep team skips in. They take me to the bathroom and they start running the bath. It smells of apple and lime. They start with my legs. Agian everytime Pormia pulls off a wax strip, I shout. She sighs. Byona and Hifir set up the make up. Byona plucks my eyebrows while Pormia does my legs. They finish and help me into the bath. My skin is tingling furiously. Hifir washes my hair with lemon and rose shampoo. He massages it into my hair. I almost fall asleep until Byona shakes me. I stand up and they call Cen in. He inspects me and smiles. The prep team leave. Cen helps me into my dress. It's an off the shoulder silver and gold dress. I look at myself in the mirror.
"Wow Cen!" I smile "It's perfect!"
"Thank you" Cen smiles "I have many designs in my notebook"
"I bet they are as perfect as this"
"Yes, they are"
"Cen you are the best designer I have ever seen" I smile "And I haven't seen many"
Cen laughs "Thanks Savera"
We hug and Hifir does my make up. Golden eye shadow, red lips, pink blusher and black eye liner.
We walk back in the others. They clap at the prep teams work. A SafeKeeper comes and gets me and Winter. We say goodbye to the others and go into the elevator. The SafeKeeper leads us to the stage. Flux Yule speecks to the audience.
"So please make our winner feel welcome, Savera Roxen!" says Flux.
The audience applauds as I walk in.
"Sit sit" says Flux.
I smile and sit down.
"So lets get right into it. How did you feel when you shot Crucis?"
"Well he was being torn apart so out of mercy... I shot him"
"So you were merciful?"
"Yes"
"How did you feel when Chive died?"
"I had a mixture if emotions. Anger, sorrow, guilt"
"Why guilt?"
"I shouldn't have taken my eyes off her"
"I see. So when you got stabbed in the leg, did it hurt?"
"Of cource!" I say "I couldn't feel it for about 2 days, I guess"
Flux laughs "So your leaving the Centri tomorrow. How do you feel?"
Glad! "Sad, but happy because I get to see my family agian"
"Why sad?"
"I will miss my wonderful team and you, Flux!"
The audience 'Awwws'
"Aw thank you, Savera" he smiles "So tell us about the dress"
"I don't want to take any credit" I say "My stylist, Cen. Is the brains behind this"
"Cen, you did a wonderful job" says Flux.
Cen stands up and reseives a massive applause. He bows and sits back down.
"Final question" says Flux "When you get home, what are you going to to?"
"Hug everyone in my town" I smile.
Flux raps up the interview and I head back to the Penthouse. I have prawn soup. I then go back to bed.

Chapter 21
I wake up with a smile on my face. Today is the day I go back to Southern zone. But it's also the last day I see Liena, Cen, Hifir, Byona and Pormia. Latius will escort us back then return to the Centri. Winter lives in the Southern zone so I wont miss her. I hop out of bed and have a shower. I take twice as long because I'll never get a good enough shower. I brush my hair getting rid of all the knots. I put on an outfit Cen made me. A short silver dress. I put on the golden shoes and walk to the breakfast table. Everyone eats and dosen't talk. I eat until I burst. Cen stands up and taps his glass.
"Ahem" he says.
Everyone puts down their knives and forks.
"Today, for most of us, will be the last we see Savera"
Everyone boos. I grin.
Cen turns to me "We came together and got you this"
Liena reaches into her pocket and pulls out a small, fish shaped ring. I gasp.
"Wowy!" I squeal.
Everyone smiles. Liena puts it on my right ring finger. I look at it. It shines in the sun. "I love it!"
"It's so you wont forget us" smiles Cen.
I hug them all "Thank you!"
"Your welcome!" they smile.
We realise. Byona and Pormia hug and kiss my cheeks "We will miss you!" they sob.
"I'll miss you too!"
Hifir takes my hand and kisses it "You be good cherub!"
"I will!" I smile.
Liena hugs me "Don't forget to always wash"
I laugh "I wont!"
Cen and I embrace "I'll miss you!" he says.
"I'll miss you too!"
We let go. "Come on we'll be late!" says Lartius "We got to go"
"Yes" says Winter "We must go"
I give everyone a final hug.
2 SafeKeepers come and get us. We go down in the elevator. We reach a long white hallway. We then get taken into a chariot and ride to the train station. We zoom past the presidents building, it's large and white. After 10 minuites we reach the station. We get dragged into the bullet train. The doors shut. I walk into the dinning cart. I feel the train leave the station. Shortly after leaving. I see the grey buildings change to emerald green forest.
Soon we'll be in the Southern zone and I'll be home...
