Chapter 11
I wake up jst before 6am. I guess the first half of today will go something like this:
6:00am: Wake up.
6:00-6:30am: Get dressed.
6:30-7:00am: Have breakfast.
7:00-9:20am: Train.
9:30-11:00am: Say goodbye to everyone and fly to launch room.
11:00-11:59am: Get to into Launch room and Enter arena.
11:59-12:00pm: Countdown.
12:00+ : The Hunt.
6:00am: Lartius knocks on my door "WAKE UP!" he shouts. I drag myself out of bed and get dressed, nothing too special.
6:30am: I open my door and walk down the hallway, slowly. I take in very last crack and colour because I won't be coming back here agian. I see the others sitting down at the table. I smile and join them. Crucis and I have the same breakfast, we need our strengh. We have copped potatos, 2 eggs, fried cheese sandwitch, 3 sausages, 4 strips of bacon, matched potatos, some nuts and to drink, orange juice. Even though we have more food before we go in its good to stuff yourself. "So good!" I say putting my knife and fork on my empty plate.
"Veeeery!" smiles Crucis laying back in his chair.
"Ok its now, 7am so get training and make the most of the time you have!" smiles Winter.
"Ok" I smile.
"Ok" says Crucis.
7:00am: Crucis and I get into the elevator. And go down to the Training arena. I smile at Chive, she smiles back and continues with Blowgun station. I walk over to the Trident Making station. I'm better at Tridents, I don't know why. The instructor teaches me how to make the tips sharp with just a match. So cool! I then go onto the Camouflage station. I colour myself like a fish underwater. The instructor is impressed. "Well done" she smiles.
"Thanks" I smile back. I clean myself down and go onto the next station. 8:10am, I finish cleaning myself and decide to watch The Fielders hand fun with Hand-To-Hand combat. Their good, don't get me wrong but I have some competion. When they are finished they then go onto the Weightlifting, Wrestling and Boxing stations. They never go onto the more useful stations like the other Honours do. The Fielders prefur the brawn side rather than the brains side. But why do they almost always win? Hmmmm...
9:20pm everyone finishes and makes their way back to their Escorts, Stylists and Mentor. In our case, the Escort is Lartius, the Mentor is Winter, and the Stylists Cen and Liena, Oh and the prep teams.
9:30pm: "Take care, Jewel!" weeps Pormia huging me too tight.
"I'll..... miss... you... too!" I gasp. She releases her grip then it's Byona turn to strangle me.
"Try to come back alive!" cries Byona holding my head in her hand.
"I'll try" I smile at her.
"Don't get too mucky!" sobs Hifir hugging me. He sobs into my shoulder.
"I can't promise anything" I chuckle. He lets go and the prep team laughs.
"Sorry I can't come with you" cries Winter.
I hug her "You need to get sponsers"
She smiles.
Lartius hugs me "Hunt happy!"
"I will!" I smile.
"Well at least me and Liena can come with you and Crucis" smiles Cen.
I hug him "Yeah!"
4 SafeKeepers come and get me, Crucis, Cen and Liena. We pile into the elvator and go down further down than we have ever gone down before. We walk down a long hallway until we can see the light. We walk into sunlight and see 2 Centri Jets one for the Honours and one for the Stylists. I hug Cen and then Liena. They walk into their Jet and we walk into ours. We get into the Jet and sit down in seats with very secure belts. We get straped in and I can feel us take off. "Give me your arm" says a tall SafeKeeper.
"Why?" I ask, with her grabing my arm.
"Its a tracker" she smiles. She gets out a large needle and jabs my arm. I flinch. I can see a light bleeping, I guess that is the tracker. I feel the Jet speed off to the arena. We get hold that it will take 1 hour and it is now 10am. Everyone avoids eye contact and noone talks the whole way there.
11:00am: The Jet lands with a large bump and the doors open. For each Honour 2 SafeKeepers come and get them. I get out last. We walk underground and go into a small silver room. I see Cen waiting for me with a bag. I hug him. "I have your clothes" he says "Take the bag and go to that room" He points do a door and I walk into it. I strip off my clothes and take a shower. I brush my hair and tie it up. I then get dressed into a black T-shirt, black leather-type jacket, running black trousers, grey socks and black lace up trainers. I walk back into the room where Cen is waiting.
"How do I look?" I ask.
"Perfect" Cen smiles. He walks up to me and adjusts my collar. I feel something on my neck, the neclace. I look at Cen who puts his fingers to his lips. "Shhh. It took a while to get past the Centri because May-Blue Clavo from the Western Zone had a ring that then turned made a posion spike come out of it. She clamed she had no idea"
"Thanks Cen! And poor her(!)" I laugh with Cen.
Honours time to get into your tubes I take a deep breathe and walk into the Tube. "Remember Savera" smiles Cen "I betting on you" I smile. The glass comes up around me and I put my hand on the glass. Cen does to and smiles. I rise into the arena.

I feel the wind in my hair. In front is a large lake. To my left Mountains. To my right forest/jungle.

I look around. I see Crucis a few stools away from me. I can't see the Shell anywhere. The Shell is a giant horn covered in shells. We have to find it so we can get surpiles. I see Chive ready to run for her life. She is on the tips of her toes.

I look up and see the rest of the Honours (The Feilders) getting ready to be air-dropped in. They are standing on the end of ropes. If they drop, they will be blown to smithereens. My heart is pounding.

BEGIN!
The cannon booms and we run off our stools and ropes and run. The ground starts rumbling. The Shell is behind us. I pivot on one foot and run towards the Shell. I see a bag, a good size and a bow with a lot of arrows in a Quiver. I run and dive over people to get them. I fling my bag over my shoulder. I reach for the bow, but May-Blue grabs it. She smiles. I reach to some daggers near me and throw one at her leg. She falls. I run up to her and force the bow and Quiver off her hand and back. "Thanks!" I shout. I run towards the Forest. I get dived on by a Fielder. He punches my face. I grab him and roll over. I grab an arrow with my shaking hand and stab him in the head. I get up with the bloody arrow and speed into the forest.
I turn around a few meters into the forest to see if I'm being followed. I am, it's May-Blue staggering after me. She throws a knife at me and it gashes my forehead, just above my right eye. With one good eye I load an arrow and fire it at her other leg. This time she falls long enough for me to get away from her. I keep running and running until my legs hurt. I stumble over my feet a few times but keep running. I look behind me, with my good eye, to see if I'm still being followed. I'm not. I slow to walking pace. The cannon still hasn't gone off. The bloodbath must be still going on. Until then, I can not worry about being followed. I hold my bleeding eye. I see many strange creatures run around me. They look nothing like any animal I have ever seen.
I look up at the trees for a sutable place to sleep, even though it's still not dark. I find a thick oak tree and climb up it, almost blind. I climb into the leaves making sure I'm not seen but I can se them. I find a thick flat branch. I sit down and take my bag off. I look in it. Sleeping bag, blanket, rope, 1 bandage, water bottle, water purifier and 5 daggers. Ok so how many weapons? 5 daggers, 15 arrows and 2 more daggers. So... 7 daggers and 15 arrows. Not bad. I put my things back in my bag and oragise them so I can fit more in if I need too. I use some water to clean my head and drink some. I rap the bandage round my head.
BOOM! It startles me. The bloodbath has ened. I count 12 dead. 14 people still alive. And it's still light out. I see the fake sun get lower and lower. It goes dark. I see the Centri symbol appear in the sky and the anthem plays. The symbol disapears and the faces of the dead appear. Most of them are the new fielders, but I see some familar faces. Jurs Zet and Geta Almi, Geta is one of the ones from the Training arena who laughed at Crucis. Crucis and Chive are still alive, good. The Centri symbol appears agian and the anthem finishes. I snuggle into my sleeping bag and use the blanket as a pillow. I try the rope around the branch and me. I slip into a deep sleep.

Chapter 13
Everyone files into the square. I hold my sisters hand walking past the fountain. "They'll just prick your finger and take a small amount of blood" I tell her "It will only hurt a little bit" We stand in a line and walk to the SafeKeeper taking blood. Koia goes first. I hear her wince.
"Go over there" says the SafeKeeper pointing to the group of 12-13 year olds. I nod at her to go over. She slowly walks over to them and stands with her friends. I then get my finger pricked. My name is in 55 times. Our family need the food. I walk to the group of 15-16 year olds. The Girls and boys are sperate from each other. This is just half of our popualion. I look over and see my friend, Konno Baxwoll, standing with the 15-16 year old boys and my twin, Leporis.
The square is loud with all the children talking. The parents are on the outside. My father Wai standing with my 3 year old brother, Skaen. Our mother is not there because she died when a giant Tsunami killed the fishers on the coast, she was on one of the fishing boats. Skaen is too young to be in The Hunt, you must be 12 to enter.
I watch our Zones escourt, Lartius, walk onto the stage infront of the Trading building. He taps the microphone and the feedback hisses through the speakers. This shuts everyone up. "Yes, hello everyone from the Southern Zone!" he says. I can see his natural hair colour through his dyed red hair. "Welcome to the election of the 99th Hunt. Ladies first!" He walks over to the girl's fish bowl, with all our name in it. He puts his hand in and wiggles his finger and hand about the bowl. He stops, takes out a slip of paper and hold it into the air. "And the luck Honour is...." He opens the paper and reads clearly "Savera Roxen!"
Everyone is silent I can hear the water from the fountain falling into the pond around it. Everyone steps away from me and makes a gap for me to walk past. "Come on, don't be shy!" says Lartius. I walk past my freinds and acquaintances, into the area between groups.
"SAVERA NO!" shouts Koia. I turn and stare at her. "NO SAVERA!" She runs past the SafeKeepers and run in my arms. "DON'T GO!" she shouts.
"I have to!" I tell her. Konno runs through the people and picks up Koia. She yells and screams as he takes her to my father. I walk upto the stage and hold Lartius' hand which is held out to greet me. He leads me to the middle of the stage.
"Who was that, your sister" he asks.
I nod.
"Oh, she must look up to you"
I nod agian.
"Let's have a round of applause for the female Honour of The Hunt!"
Noone claps. But one by one they put their cross their middle and ring fingers to their lips and hold it out towards me. It is a sign of goodbye. I nod.
"Ok now for the boys!" he smiles. He walk over to the boys fish bowl and puts his hand straigh in and out. He opens the slip and clearly reads out the name "Crucis Inmano!"
There is no yelling or shouting from the others this time. He camly walks upto the stage and faces the audience. "Shake hands!" says Lartius. We shake hands...
BOOM! 13 people alive
The cannon fire wakes me up. I look down and see some Fielders below me. They have killed someone from one of their zones, who didn't want to be with them. It's light now. I slowly untie the rope and stop when I hear a familar voice. "Come on she's gotta be here somewhere!" says Crucis. TRAITOR! I look down and see Crucis with a group of 7 Fielders.
"Yeah love boy!" says Ento Trate "Where do we find her!"
"Try the lake" he says "She loves water"
They run off.
I fully untie the rope and stuff it in my bag. I slide out of my sleeping bag and stuff that in there also. Along with the blanket. I fling it on my back and climb slowly down the tree.
I jump down and run in the opposite direction. I'm hungry, my stomache grumbles. I hear an animal run by me. I load my arrow and shot it in the heart. I walk over to it and bend down. I take out the arrow. I make a bag out of leaves and put the animal in it and tie it round my weist. I walk instead of run. I get to a good tree, I hear mumbles. I quickly climb the tree and hid. BOOM A Fielder kills a girl who light a fire and the smoke could be seen. I hear hin humph and leave. I take this time to skin the animal and take out its bones and organs. Leaving an empty meaty cropse. I cut a large peice out and climb back down the tree. I use the fire, that hadn't been put out, and cook the animal all the way through. I eat it all. But then an dagger shots past my face missing my nose. I jump up and turn around. I see the Fielders and Crucis. I run.

Chapter 14
I run though the forest. Getting slapped my branches and twigs as I go. I roll over logs and dive over rocks. I don't stop running until I reach water. Yes! I'm a strong swimmer even in the most harshest of currents. I wade though the water until I can't stand. I take a deep breath and dive. I hear the Fielders and Crucis mumble to each other. I turn my head and see a dagger zipping towards me. I swim as fast as I can but I can't stop it from lodging into my Femur. I swallow the pain and keep swimming. Keep going, Savera! You are almost there!
I reach the other side of the lake and drag myself out of the water. I look to the other side of the lake and see that they are trying to make a raft from the trees. I crawl to the forest and cut off a branch for a walking stick. I run, limping, through the forest. I fall over a log and slowly get to my feet. I continue running. Why is Crucis doing this?...... I guess he had a tactic all of his own... My thoughts then turn to home. My father hates it when I'm in pain.... Same with Phox... Man I miss him...
I find a moss covered cave. I sigh happily. But just before I reach the cave's entrance, I collapse on the floor. I drag my body into the cave. I prop myself up agianst the cold cave wall and open my bag. I take out the water and a dagger. I take the bandage off my head and clean it. Using the other dagger I cut around the fabric of my leg. I grasp the dagger in my leg... 3.............. 2...................... 1! I yank out the dagger and scream. I hope the Fielders don't hear me. I pour some water on my wound and I get the clean bandage and rap it around the wound. I'm kust about to pass out from the pain until I hear bleeping. I crawl outside the cave and see a small blue capsule with a golden parachute float down to me. I reach up and grab it. The arena goes dark. I see the Cenri symbol appear in the sky with the anthem playing. I see the girl who light the fire and the boy who didn't want to be with the Fielders. The athem finishes and I scuttle back to my cave. I take of the parachute and put it on the floor. I open the capsule and see a small note in it:
Pain builds character. Don't use it all.

I chuckle and open the capsule. The smell of Mint and Lavender hits my nose. It's not a painkiller but a quick healer. I rub some on my blastered hands and feet. I cautiously open the bandage and quickly put some on. I then tie the bandage back up and put my bag to one side. I go back outside and use the leaves and moss to make a door that looks natural and so that I can't been seen. I get out the blancket and sleeping bag. I feel the air get colder and colder with every passing second. Luckily the sleeping bag bounches my body heat back to me, keeping me warm. I fold the blacket around me and use a thick moss patch for pillow. I keep my daggers near me just incase. I fall into an unconscious state where I get no sleep.

Chapter 15
I wake up with my face, face down on the floor. The sun beams through the mossy door. I rub my eyes. I'm really hot in my sleeping bag. I wiggle out of it and stuff it in my bag. The weather is at least 10 degrees hotter than it was yesterday. I take off my leather jacket and fold it into my bag. I put some more of the medicine on my leg and I stumble to my feet. The part that got stabbed it still numb. I use the branch to help me walk. I pack all my things and head out. I push the door off with my good leg and start walking.
After a few miles it gets more humid and it starts to rain. I see all the animals run past me. Thats odd... I then hear the gushing sound of water. I look up, the rain is getting faster and heavier. The sound of water gets louder and closer. I turn and see a wall of water come rushing towards me. Uh oh! I drop my walking stick and limb away from the water as fast as I can. Even when I get some distance between me and the water it just gets faster. I know, try to go around it. It has to end sometime. I sprint to my left and run length ways to the water.
BOOM! Some one just died from drowning. I keep my eyes fixed on the edge of the water.
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrum brrrrrrrrrrrrrum! I stop. I know that noise..... oh no! Beorana... Visous, hallucinating-inducing flying monkey fish. A Beoine is a monkey and Ranau is a deadly fish. Together they can kill. I set off running faster but soon the water trapes me. I can hold my breath for a long time so I might live, just enough. I keep my limbs working by swimming through the water. I see the Beorana a few feet away from me. I swim franticly trying to get away from them but they just get closer. I hear Phox's word ring in my head.
"Remember Savera, what ever you do just don't let them win. Do what ever it takes."
"But"
"No 'buts' hun. Remember I'll be looking out for you. I'm sorry if I'm pestering you. If you see any mutants stay away from them if you can."
"I will. I love you"
"I love you too"
I love you.... His last words ring around my head. I smile. I look back at the Beorana. They seemed to have disapeared. Suddenly a sharp pain hits my head and I black out.

Chapter 16
I wake up to the smell of pine needles.
Where..... am......I? I look around, I see a light fire and the animal I killed on a spit. I'm in a forest clearing, but it's secluded. I see my bag and my things on the floor around the bag.
Did someone raid my bag when I was asleep? I immediately close my eyes when I hear someone approaching. I hear the person sit down, the zip of my bag opens and rustling follows. I guess they are putting my things in my bag. I slowly open one eye. I see a familiar person. I see the figure of Chive, the small 12 year old girl with the very lean shape, mocha colour skin, dark black hair, and dark brown eyes. I fully open my eyes.
"Chive?" I ask siting up.
"No don't sit up. The Beorana hit you pretty bad" she says making me lay down "I found you when you where talking giggerish and heading towards the Fielders who are following you. They are 5 hours behind us"
"How bad was I?" I ask.
"Urm.... lets just say. Crazy bad"
"Oh"
"Yeah. You where also bleeding heavily. SO I had to knock you out. I put some pine neddle blend I got from my Zone on you"
I smile "Thanks Chive"
She smiles "I cleaned your clothes, weapons and wound for you daily"
"How long was I out?!" I ask shocked.
"4 days"
"How many dead?"
"..... 3 of the Feilders who where following you. And 1 more I killed"
"So all together.... 19 dead and 7 left"
"Yeah. Thats you, me, Crucis, Ento Trate, May-Blue, someone else and Varn Oppo, from my Zone, still alive"
"Whoa"
"You are being followed by May-Blue, Crucis and Ento"
"...... oh"
She nods. "Come on. Your well enough to go"
"I don't want to go. I want you and I to team up"
"You do?"
"Yeah"
Chive nods "Ok then! Oh and I had some of you meat"
"No prob!"
She helps me up and I sort my hair out. We gather our things together and set off. We don't talk when we walk. We just smile at each other. I look around me. The sky is blue and bright. The birds chirp.
"Hey look a Rocaw!" I say pointing to the red bird. "I've never seen one for real"
"I have" chirps Chive.
"Really?"
"Yeah. We have then on the ranches and forests" says Chive.
"I'd love to see them upclose"
"We have a song that makes them sing. Want to hear it?"
"Sure"
Chive whisles a 2-note-tune and they reply.
"Cool" I say looking around.
The birds suddenly stop. We stop also and look around. From out of no where a dagger is fired at us. I quickly load and arrow and fire it at the boy. BOOM! He dies. 20 dead, 6 left. I turn to Chive with a smile on my face. But it quickly turns into a frown.
