So you have to do what BiscuitBear37 explains in their help-me-write-a-story. I’m really sorry again for copying you, BiscuitBear37, but I like your idea of a “help-me-write-a-story”.
Here’s my beginning:
It was a beautiful, calm Sunday evening and twelve-year-old Kinsley Spencer was on her best friend Chrissy Strachan’s porch, admiring the pastel-coloured sunset. -
Chrissy looked up from the watercolour painting she was making, smiling at Kinsley with a somewhat puzzled expression. "You're staring off into space again," she chided, though her eyes twinkled with amusement. "What do you think about when you do that?"
-
Kinsley started slightly, before she averted her gaze back sheepishly at Chrissy, feeling dumbfounded albeit having done nothing to be considered erroneous. She scrunched her face partially in a commix of mirth and discomfiture, both stemming from herself.
"Sorry, I was just thinking about that delicious cheez-it I had earlier... It was a singular cracker, but it made all the difference in my year." Rejoindered Kinsley in a sanguine but jocose demeanor. -
Chrissy grinned. 'You're so weird,' she laughed, though meant it not rudely. She looked back down at her painting, her smile turning into a frown.
Kinsley stood and walked across the porch to her friend. 'What's the matter?'
'It needs to be perfect,' Chrissy distressed. 'Otherwise it won't be displayed in the New Year gallery!' -
Kinsley bent over, looking at the painting that Chrissy was working on. It was a picture of the sunset, the very one she had just been admiring.
"Chrissy, it's beautiful. Of course it'll make it in the gallery!" she grinned, patting her friend on the back. "You worry too much. Why don't you take a break?" -
(All good, it means more people can be creative and have fun 😊)
"I can't, it needs to be perfect" she repeated then seeing the look on her friend's face added. "Give me five minutes and we'll hang out for a bit"
Kinsley beamed, giving the painting one ast admire. "You truly have talent you know, it looks exactly like today's sunset on a canvas" she grinned helping Chrissy tidy up. -
Chrissy flashed a smile, "Thanks for the compliment!"
"Now how about I take the paints in, and then we can go to the milk bar together?" offered Kinsley.
"Sounds great!"
"Alright then,"
Kinsley slid open the fly screen door, both her arms loaded with colours ranging from deep crimson to light lavender. She pushed open the pale aqua door to Chrissy's room. Kinsley gasped, astonished at the room's new look. Chrissy gave her room a "make-over" every year, and this year's was truly spectacular! She swiftly slid the paints into their box, realising she was taking far too long, and hurried outside. -
"Wait for me, please!" Kinsley chuckled, following Chrissy outside. Chrissy didn't hear anything, though, so Kinsley ran back to catch up with her. "What should we get at the bar?" Kinsley asked Chrissy, grinning excitedly.
-
"I'm going to get chocolate obviously," Chrissy said, her tone light and playful as she gently nudged her friend with her shoulder. She raised an eyebrow. "Let me guess your order: strawberry? Again?"
-
"Nah, I'm going to try something different this time. I'll get a vanilla milkshake," smiled Kinsley.
-
Chrissy nodded. "I'm surprised! I thought you always got strawberry." She assumed.
"Don't throw it away, then!" Chrissy joked. -
The two walked in silence for the rest of their journey to the milk bar.
"I'll pay," offered Kinsley.
Chrissy nodded.
"Two milkshakes please Madam Camille; one chocolate and the other vanilla," requested Kinsley.
Madam Camille was the lady who ran the milk bar.
"Sure! That will be two dollars," replied Madam Camille with her pleasant smile.
Kinsley handed over a two-dollar coin and took the milkshakes. She passed the chocolate-flavoured one to Chrissy.
"These are so yum! Madam Camille and her nieces Teala, Vannah and Jaycie make such good milkshakes!" exclaimed Kinsley, sipping with her white straw.
"I agree! I've also heard from Ainsley that Palacia Junior, our neighbouring school, is doing an exchange programme with us! And Teala, Vannah and Jaycie go to Palacia Junior School, according to Madam Camille," answered Chrissy thoughtfully.
"An exchange programme? We're not even in Grangersleigh Senior School! We're in Year 6 Chrissy! Are you sure Ainsley said that?" Kinsley asked quizzically.
Chrissy shrugged her shoulders, "That's what Ainsley said,"
