" At some point, we all have had an encounter with someone. That encounter may be bland, possibly extraordinary. But most encounters are pure coincidence, so that's what I'll call my story.
You may be asking who I am, or why I'm important to this story. I can only tell you who I am, as anything more would spoil it all. I am Cerul, the master of the night-"
A dash of fire ended that last sentence before a period ever could, holy fire blazed forth, barely hotter than the sight that stood before me, mr. narrator. Long blood red hair, a pink dress, and a beautiful blue eye. This girl was a real beaut.
"Target eliminated. The item wasn't here." The girl sighed and walked away. At this moment the camera focuses on Cerul's ashes. The wind blows them away, just like the girl blows away my readers. -
The editor told me there should be a time lapse, but I wasn't sure how to fit that in. I've never done a time skip! How time skip?! E-ehm, with my narrative woes cast aside, I realized I had to pan the camera to a new scene.
Sparkles obscured the lens for a few seconds, flowers flew everywhere. The sun shined down on this place; casting warmth over the area. The flowers did well here, blooming more than ever. The girl was here, basking in the sun. The wind blew her hair everywhere. I seized my chance.
I walked up to her, I ran my hand through my hair. Spiky and black with purple highlights. Feel free to call me.
"The flowers are nice, aren't they?"
The girl nodded and smiled warmly. I felt my heart beating, it wouldn't stop.
"My name's Blackheart. What's yours?" I smiled, I gave myself this name. It was a good change from my codename Rei. I used to be a mercenary. I did dirty work like assassinations or robberies.
It seemed like an eternity before she responded.
"My name's Phenex!" The sun casted our shadows, the shadows were side by side, as if we were meant to be with each other. -
A few days later I had given up, she was nowhere to be seen in the city. For one, I had found something else to occupy my time, there was apparently a massive library here. This library stood at the center of the city, giving rise to hopes and dreams for everyone.
But I had...different reasons to find it. The hopes and dreams didn't interest me. I walked past all the people in the streets. They stared, I couldn't blame them. I look.. Unique. My eyes shine with a purple glow. My pupils are what really scare people. It's like the crescent moon itself was stored in them.
I give off a certain air as I walk, it's all part of my heritage. A heritage I wish I could forget...
My coat billowed out from behind me, the cold embrace of death reached out for the people in the streets.
I'm a monster, not because I'm not human or anything like that. I'm a monster by choice.
The library, once so far, was now right in front of me. I discarded my thoughts and entered. -
