Thread Topic: My poems

So I guess my poems are a little out of style, but I did lots of poetry last year in school. Here goes nothing.

This is a poem I wrote while thinking about when we'll go to Ohio next week and how much I hate vacations:
Home
Oh, to be home and not trudge to and fro
In an unknown place where one has nowhere to go!
Why should one ever depart from his home
To a place where he can only aimlessly roam?
Home that is cheerful and happy and bright,
Where the birds carol and flowers dance in the light,
Is better by far than a place where no sound,
Or sight, or sense at all of joy can be found.
How sad for the soul that has no place to live,
That is friendly, familiar, with comfort to give!
Vacations are pointless except to show one
That staying at home is the only true fun.

Samntha NoviceI never knew that you can also write poems.
It's good. -
Thanks :)
I live and breathe poetry. I love to write it.
This one I wrote while reminiscing on my childish belief that snow looked like styrofoam. A nice reprieve from this summer.
The Styro-snow
In January's coldest weeks,
White puff-balls fall on all birds' beaks,
While 'round our yard there seems to roam
Tiny balls of Styrofoam.
Our yard was only green in sight
Before the snow; now it's all white,
And everywhere I want to go,
Everything is covered in snow--
All the grass and all the trees--
The deep drifts come up to my knees.
"Come, Puppy-Dog," I call, "Come play
On such a snowy, wintry day!"
I run and frolic happily
With Puppy-Dog along with me.
